The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Previously operating as a speakeasy, the expansive wood panels were perfect for hiding a little booze and one can only imagine the shenanigans going on beyond the hidden staircase behind the coat check. For decades following, The Lex, as it’s called by locals and enthusiasts alike, was the place to be seen; business dealings, cocktail hours, and milestone celebrations were a regular occurrence for St. Paul socialites.

This was a girls night out, and it was fantastic! If you enjoy superior customer service, and excellent food, this is the place for you. I was greeted warmly at the door, they took my coat, and put my packages at my table. Had a drink at the bar with my friends before dinner. Had fun joking around with the bartender. The drinks were as beautiful as they were delicious. Highly recommend the Lex Cup. Matt, our server, as well as the others who helped along the way, were attentive, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be around. Our dinner was delicious. We had the Sweet Onion Boullion (get it: the presentation is beautiful and the cheese, crostini, and broth are excellent), filet mignon, sea scallops, whipped potatoes, truffle Gouda gnocchi, and asparagus. All of it was top-notch. Prepared perfectly. We can’t wait to go back in the summer and visit the rooftop patio. The old school steakhouse is alive and well at the Lexington.

We enjoyed a special family birthday dinner at the Lex, one of our favorite neighborhood fine dining restaurants. We love the history and legacy of the Lex, and the food is consistently delicious and memorable. The service experience was outstanding!

Last Saturday, I dined at The Lexington and was very pleased with my experience. The food and service were exceptional, and every staff member was kind and helpful. My partner and I celebrated our anniversary there, and it was the perfect setting. Thank you for making our night so memorable!

The Lex is our celebration spot. Always has an upbeat vibe because everyone is overjoyed to be there. They make our anniversary special every year. Love visiting the bars and meeting friends. Cocktails sre exceptional. Food never disappoints. Steak, stroganoff, or fish: they expertly master every dish in the broad though limited menu.

First time, not as busy as it could have been due to weather. Nice place, great service, prompt . One of the owners helped us out with a better seating time. Will be back

Great night out to relax a bit as well as have a great atmosphere in the back bar area with the music and great bartender Andrew! GREAT EXPERIENCE

Dinner was superb, always too many favorites and I enjoyed the scallops. We always enjoy the bar and the noise level was tolerable, despite the crowd. Service was exceptional.

Nice to have professional valet parking, an extremely nice dining room, very professional service, and a very nice menu. Onion soup was amazing. Wedge salad was very nice as well. For our anniversary, they took a picture and created a nice card. At the end of the meal, we were provided with warm towels.

I have not ben to the The Lexingoton in several years and so glad we went back. Our server, Matt was so personable and attentive that we wanted for nothing during our meal. The food was amazing and worth the price tag.
