Welcome to the Lodge at Salhouse, we are a family run pub occupying a charming 19th century vicarage. The pub has recently been renovated, including comfortable bedrooms set in seven acres of countryside garden.

We are fortunate to be surrounded by the picturesque Norfolk Broads, while Salhouse boasts numerous scenic walks for both guests and four-legged friends to enjoy.

The neighbouring village of Wroxham provides plentiful amenities including a department store, local shops and cafes, and is popular with holidaymakers wishing to hire boats - we would all agree that one of the best ways to experience the Broads is on the water!

Norfolk also boasts 90 miles of award-winning coastline, with lots of variety to explore. From sandy beaches and rugged cliffs to salt marshes, there really is a beach for everyone! Here at the Lodge our closest stretch of beach is only a half-hour drive away.

    Excellent visit to The Salhouse Lodge. Have never been disappointed with the service or food quality. As The Lodge is very popular you need to be prepared for a noisy atmosphere. It is quieter eating in the main bar area if the restaurant is busy. That is why I have not given 5 stars to every aspect.

    The food is plentiful. However, if you are ordering roast beef please ask for this to be well cooked (unless you like it raw and bloody). It was also quite tough so it needed a steak knife to cut through the generous portion which I couldn’t eat because it was raw. Service great, menu choice great, lovely setting. I was unlucky with choice for Sunday lunch.

    Long wait for prebooked table. Rock hard vegetables. Dry mash potato. Very noisy

    This is my absolute favourite restaurant but I was disappointed with my meal on Saturday evening. I had the fish pie which I didn’t think was up to the restaurants normal standards. It had definitely been reheated in the oven as the cheese topping was solid, I was actually unable to cut as so hard. I was with my husband and friends who had a lovely meal so I didn’t say anything to spoil the atmosphere. But please don’t drop your standards as we came on special occasions and would like that to continue

    Food and service very good. Only one issue, the ladies toilets were not up to standard, there was dust on the skirting boards and marks on the doors and walls in the cubicles. In one cubicle there was a loo brush covered in residue of toilet paper. It was also very cold in the ladies toilets. They definitely need a deep clean.
