Ireland's most iconic drawing room looks out on the only garden grand enough to match: the glorious St. Stephen's Green. The Lord Mayor's Lounge is the perfect back drop for a special day in Dublin. A room sparkling with light; it is a welcoming setting for our celebratory theatre of that most civilised ritual: the art of Afternoon Tea.
The elements have remained unchanged over the centuries: a fragrant pot of tea, a succession of sweets and delicate sandwiches, fine china, fresh flowers and delighted laughter. This time is all about enjoying the lovely things in life, an experience designed to be shared and savoured. Time slows down and the art of conversation is revived.

From December 1st, our wonderful Lounge will convert to a casual dining venue from 7.30pm daily, allowing our guests to experience an exquisite food offering in our iconic setting.

My young family and my wife and I had a beautiful experience in The Lord Mayors Lounge at the Shelbourne. Service was very attentive, warm and friendly, particular credit goes to Johanna, who was very friendly to our two young children. There was a slight glitch with your booking, which Imelda, the duty manager, dealt with very well - the kitchen was very accommodating to us also. Overall, a very pleasant experience and looking forward to our next visit already. Strongly recommended

Afternoon tea was exceptional. Every bite was delicious. Róisín, our server was incredibly hospitable, super knowledgeable about all the food, and the tea selection. We loved the harpist playing and all the detail that went into such a memorable afternoon.

When our party of four entered the Lord Edward Suite we were warmly welcomed by Anna our host. Anna made us very comfortable at our table and described the experience that was about to unfold wonderfully. We were there for just about two hours and Anna could not do enough for us the service was impeccable. The food was amazing, presentation of it was so beautiful and as it was the Christmas themed Afternoon tea there were a selection of Christmas teas added to the menu for the occasion. We tried the "Hot Toddy" recommended by Anna, and was my favorite of the day, and the "Mulled Wine" which was also delicious and both of them smelled like Christmas in a cup? We also had some Pink Champagne which was a wonderful accompaniment to the sweet treats and we enjoyed everything. I cannot recommend this experience enough, we have already decided that we are going to do this every year now for New Year's Eve.

The afternoon tea experience was wonderful. The dining room atmosphere at Christmas time was lovely. The pastries and sandwiches provided were delicious as well as a lovely presentation. I also enjoyed the harpist who played throughout the tea.

Such a lovely experience Afternoon Tea in the Lord Mayor's Lounge everything was excellent. My mum, who is Coeliac, was so well looked after with a gluten-free option. My daughter had the kids option, which was very well suited. It is the best afternoon tea and in such beautiful surroundings and yet again the staff are very professional and friendly. Thank you yet again for a memorable occasion.

Wonderful festive afternoon tea experience at The Shelbourne. You can always rely on it to be great and once again it was. One of the best afternoon tea experiences in Dublin at any time of year. Great service & festive ambience. Thank you.

Booked Festive afternoon tea for three and it was wonderful. From the ambience and decor to the tea and food itself, everything was top notch. Well worth the price and lots of leftovers. Would highly recommend it for those looking for a special experience.
