   The Merchant is my favourite lunch venue in Benalla, have not had a bad experience yet. Today’s special, salmon bruschetta, tasted exactly as delicious as it sounded. Thank you, again, and until next time!

   Benalla has a lack of evening dining options, so it was fantastic to have the Merchant open its doors for this special event. The food was fantastic and served quickly. The Japanese menu was cohesive but varied enough to please our entire party. There was little bites of joy on every plate. I hope the Merchant will make evening dining a more regular occurrence. We would happily book a table every time!

   Probably one of the few really professionally run Cafes in Benalla. The new decor, seating and inner-city vibe brings us back regularly. Staff are attentive but not intrusive, food is on point, contemporary and well prepared, coffee is Adelaide quality (my highest praise).

   Obliging staff gave excellent service but didn’t hover, which was good. Food and drinks were great. Nice ambience. Seats could be a little more comfortable. Overall, 9/10 .. I keep going back so must tick the main boxes.

   Lovely venue, food was good, although not a lot of gluten free to choose from, but what i had was very good. Great wine and coffee. 👍

   The food was lovely, but not a wide selection provided. Service was OK. Ambience is the main thing missing as it's a bit like sitting in a shed. Needs more decoration and better lighting to make it feel a bit more cosy. I think it is a bit noisy because it's all open and echos a bit. I would definitely not go here if I was on a date.

    Always an excellent experience at this cafe.. It’s an easy process being seated, ordering etc.. Staff always happy to help. It has a great range of food for Breakfast or Lunch whichever you feel like..
