At age the of 20, Chef Rafael moved with his wife to Cleveland, Ohio. His goal was to continue his Italian culinary skills which he acquired in the region of Verona, Italy.
Chef Rafael was introduced to the restaurant industry at a very young age. His grandmother was very well known for her home-cooked dishes. She loved having her grandson with her as she cooked meals as soon as he was able to walk. He was six years old when he first learned how to make homemade pasta and, by age 14, he was ready to embark on his own culinary journey. His first stop was Verona, Italy,which was the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The romantic and rich architectural heritage of Verona was matched by the great culinary venues of that city and Chef Rafael's experience and skills grew exponentially. Three years later, Chef Rafael traveled to Belgium and France where he then experienced cooking French cuisine as well.

                                                                                            Food was amazing, our waiter was phenomenal. Great atmosphere, very romantic mood lighting in the restaurant and not a lot of noise at all. Went with a party of 4 and made our reservations ahead of time, we arrived a little early and we were sat down immediately. Food came out wonderful without any complaints. Highly recommended.

                                                                                            My boyfriend and I went to Palazzo for the 3rd time 12/24. We took my grandmother out for her birthday and the staff made her night so special! This might be our favorite restaurant in Cleveland.

                                                                                            Amazing food and service. Wonderful a very nice Caesar salad followed by Braised Lamb Shank with a rich sauce and Tagliatelle Pasta. I had a chocolate mousse for dessert, so rich and delicious I will be remembering it for days to come. I also tasted the Potato Gnocchi with a Pesto Cream Sauce which was divine, I will be having that on our next visit. Staff is always attentive and personable. An enjoyable experience.

                                                                                            Average Italian eatery. Decent food but not exceptional. Bread was good, my arugula salad was good, husband’s Caesar salad was overdressed. His bucatini bolognese was good, my veal saltimbocca was ok but served with so-so mashed potatoes and overcooked green beans.

                                                                                            I have nothing but fantastic things to say about the Palazzo! We arrived in town late and made a last minute reservation based on a recommendation from my foodie dad. They did not rush us even as were a late reservation. The food was fantastic. The service equally as good. Homemade upscale Italian at its finest at a reasonable price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
