For those who love their afternoon teas fresh, fragrant and steeped in history, Palm Court at The Drake Hotel serving tea for over a century. Even the Queen and Princess Diana have made their royal visits here. Your afternoon tea begins with Palais de Thes menu, which features 15 tea blends including classic selections like the English Breakfast to modern yet delightful twists like the Mélange du Cap.
Tea is served in individual tea pots accompanied by the traditional three tiered tea tray filled with an arrangement of gourmet finger sandwiches and scones; and dainty petit fours with complements of preserves, lemon curd and English double Devon cream.
And let’s not forget about our little tea. The Prince & Princess Afternoon tea service, suitable for children between 3 and 12 years of age is available throughout the duration of afternoon tea service.
Reservations are heavily encouraged.

For those who love their afternoon teas fresh and steeped in history, Palm Court at The Drake Hotel serving tea for nearly a century is the quintessential Magnificent Mile afternoon tea experience. Even the Queen and Princess Diana have made their visits here. Your afternoon tea begins with a peruse of the Palais de Thes menu, which features 15 tea blends. Tea is served in individual tea pots accompanied by three tiered tea tray filled with an arrangement of gourmet finger sandwiches; delicious breads and scones; and dainty petit fours with accoutrement. The Prince & Princess Afternoon tea service, suitable for children between 3 and 12 years of age. Reservations are heavily encouraged. Full tea service seating duration is 90 minutes max.

Birthday afternoon tea was a great memory maker. The ambiance, people watching and the nibbles and tea were perfection. Actually found a tea I enjoyed so much I purchased a tin of it to take home. Visiting the milliner before hand to purchase a hat was a great experience and a must. Maria was our server and was very pleasant and attentive without being obtrusive. Highly recommended.

The ambience was lovely as was the food. Christine was a fantastic server and our few star rating for service was not a reflection on her. We were more than half way through our tea and didn’t have a glass of ice water. We also kept getting bumped into by other servers. We were told there were three weddings this weekend which is exciting however, the noise level, crowded quarters and lack of recognition for two of our party members was a disappointment. We noted in our reservation that two members were celebrating their graduation from U. Chicago grad. school. There was no mention or special acknowledgment at all.

We made this reservation for my Birthday with the entire family. The food and service were outstanding. We really enjoyed the harp playing in the background. We had 10 people in total. It's hard with a big group. I like the tables for a party of 4 better.

Finger foods, desserts and tea were average. Service very nice. The room and floral centerpiece is a beauty.

Always a lovely experience at The Drake tea room. We had Christine assisting us and she was attentive, friendly and personable. The sandwiches were plentiful as Christine brought us some extra ones. Loved the lemon curd with the scones and the desserts were Celtic themed for the month of March. The harpist was lovely and even played happy birthday for us. This is a special tea room! Also if you are lucky enough to run into Chris Lindo in the lobby on the way in or out- he will make your day with his humor, charm and photography skills. He is how legends of the Drake are formed. Such a classy and nostalgic hotel with superior staff.
