Atmosphere was not what I was expecting based off photos. We were placed in a separate, not as nice area of the restaurant where they were playing SeriusXM radio. The main dining room area was beautiful with a live pianist playing, however, my partner and I were not able to enjoy it. We were a little disappointed with this since our hopes were set on what we saw online, however, the food did exceed our expectations.

I had never eaten at The Palms, but the pictures looked lovely. I was hoping for a romantic Valentines dinner with my husband. What I ended up with was quite different. I made my reservations two months in advance and had requested a booth. We ended up in the overflow, or what was probably the banquet room. The lights were brightly lit, and there was nothing romantic about it. Specifically, nothing indicating it was Valentine’s Day or any special day. To me, it felt cafeteria-like; 20 or so tables for two, our table for four and one larger group in the middle. It wasn’t awful, but it was very disappointing. Who do you have to know to be seated in the actual restaurant?

Used Open Table for Valentines Day lunch with family. Greeted warmly at entrance and seated promptly. Our server came quickly and after waters delivered we ordered. We ordered the Reuben sandwich, the Palms Burger, and the Beef kabob plate. All served exactly as ordered and delicious. Our server was excellent and enjoyed this experience.

I’ve been here many times for dinner and even had my wedding reception here. First time for lunch and still amazing. It doesn’t matter if you dine here for lunch or dinner. The food and service will always be a 5 star experience. Fresno’s #1 restaurant by far.

Amazing experience to eat at this establishment. Very formal dining design and had the great pleasure to enjoy live entertainment with a live singer during our time we spent eating. Very friendly and welcoming staff who made the experience delightful.

I wanted to gift my Hubs a very special, romantic evening for dinner, for his Birthday. All of the pics online led me to believe The Palms was to be our romantic evening's destination. I made 7:00pm reservations days in advance. Upon arrival, 10 min before our reservation, we were crammed into the foyer with 4 other couples, and a couple who was waiting for 4 other people. We checked in and waited for our res to be called. The bar area was packed in, and Hubs commented that he didn't realize they had such a lively bar scene. Due to that, we couldn't have a cocktail before our res was called. That was fine, we'd just wait until we were seated. 20 minutes later, we were the only ones left standing, while everyone else were seated in the dining room, including a party that didn't have reservations and walked in just prior to our arrival. How do I know? Because I overheard the gal say she was worried they'd not get in. So finally, the hostess calls my name and begins to lead us through the bar. Wha??? I see a big round table in the back corner, with chairs stacked behind it. I'm thinking....omg you are not going to stick us in a back corner, in the bar, no less. Yep, that's what they did. We weren't asked if seating in the bar was okay. Hell, they will ask at Red Robin. Then the "new" piano player starts in. Between the music and the table size, my hubs had to yell at me so I could hear him. I was incensed. My chair was literally banging into a stack of chairs behind me. I've had more intimate dinners at Santa Fe Basque ( if you've been there, you know what I'm saying). One of the servers came over and asked how our night was going. I let her know this was not okay, that this was supposed to be a special romantic dinner and it's plainly the opposite. The piano player brought in a ton of people so "your reservation got bumped"....my Hubs was offended. The Hostess wished him a Happy Birthday when we showed up, so they knew they ruined our whole night. We walked out.

Beautiful, delicious food. The piano player was excellent. The sever’s assistant was attentive and helpful. We did not see much of our server and would have liked to have been offered a dessert menu. I ordered Cosmopolitan, but the triple sec was omitted. It was essentially a vodka and cranberry in a martini glass. I would definitely return for the food, but I’ll probably just make my drink at home.

The waitress took forever, didn’t offer selective and different drinks available, but the food was great.

We have only enjoyed several lunches at The Palms...this was our first dinner, indeed for Wendy's birthday. It was the BEST DINING EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER ENJOYED....incredible food items, great service, just a perfect evening. Ask for SARAH as your server....there for fifteen years, she is amazing: filled with caring and empathy, very knowledgeable and indeed just a lovely lady. This was an evening for making memories !!
