Balboa Park is beautiful, especially during the Christmas season. The receptionist has a big beautiful welcoming smile and we were seated promptly. The cocktails were delicious (Old Fashioned and raspberry lemon drop). The servers and waitress (Brittany) were very attentive. The food was excellent, as always. Beef sushi roll (who knew?!), the Caesar salad, the short ribs - tender and so flavorful. The Prado never disappoints!

The patio was lovely. The food was ok for a tourist area. The fries were just frozen McDonalds type fries that came as sides. They should do hand cut ones fresh. Chicken sandwich was little over cooked. The cocktails were nice. For the money should be better.

We had a lovely lunch on the patio. Our server Wendy was attentive and gracious. We had the prime beef & asparagus sushi roll, surf and turf lunch special, mahi tacos and one of their chicken sandwiches (I forget the name of it.) We had the house Pradaritas and strawberry lemonades and they were great. Will definitely be back!

We stopped for an early NYE dinner, my two college students and I, after wandering through museums on the 31st. Our server was lovely and helpful. Everything was timed perfectly to our table and not rushed. The food was excellent, as always, which is hard on a busy holiday, plus they had a wedding beginning outside on the patio. The Prado didn’t miss a beat, from the hostess stand (everyone cheerful despite working on a holiday), to the service, to the kitchen. Thanks for helping us close out 2024 with such a wonderful meal. The surf and turf, the seas bass, and the chicken entrees were all wonderful, as was the market salad and the lobster bisque.

We used to love this place…but unfortunately the quality of food has really gone down hill. The bread with our appetizer was very stale (like difficult to bite into). And the Birria sandwich was basically half grease…and they included more grease as a dipping sauce on the side. And extremely expensive for not a lot of food.

We always enjoy the Prado. This particular evening the restaurant was pretty full and the noise level was a bit distracting.

It’s been several years since I last ate at The Prado and it’s still a lovely place to get lunch on a visit to Balboa Park. My group sat on the patio, which has a great ambience and enjoyed our meal together.
