The Red Lion is a pub in the heart of Bloxham, just a few minutes drive from Banbury on the A361 to Chipping Norton.

The pub is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We pride ourselves with promoting local small craft breweries. From well kept Cask Ales, to fine premium Lagars and Weisens, to Belgium trappists and Lambics.

Our wine list has been specially selected to compliment our menu created by the award winning Nicholas Maloney, our Head Chef.

The Village is situated at the convergence of several country walks. As well as being next to the A361. The Red Lion provides a relaxed spot to stop and have a bite to eat on your travels. With a large garden and stretch tent, we are perfect for families and dogs.

Lovely food, great friendly staff, able to take the (well behaved) dogs, really enjoyed a lovely family Christmas lunch. Will be back soon.

The food was nice I ordered the vegetarian Christmas meal, the only negative thing I would say is that for a Christmas meal I would expect a few roast potatoes and traditional vegetables. I just had one veggie wellington in a sauce with a few sprigs of broccoli, the plate looked a bit bare and made it not such great value for money. My friends who didn't have the Christmas menu ie. burger and chips their meal looked a lot better value and really enjoyed it.

Absolutely love the food at this pub. It is great to have such a good place in the village. Plenty of choice on the menu, always well cooked and the staff are polite, friendly and very capable. Highly recommended!

Met my Dad here for a Birthday lunch halfway between Buckinghamshire and Birmingham. We had a delicious meal and the service was friendly and attentive. A lovely cosy country pub-just what we had in mind. My husband is still going on about how good the steak sandwich was 24hrs later! We will be back for other family gatherings I am sure.

Very nice pub with nice environment and good food and nice beers. Unfortunately later in the evening the heating went off and it got quite chilly and draughty in the pub which spoilt the evening.

We visited on a Sunday lunchtime Good food at a reasonable price Service was excellent did not have to wait long even though the restaurant was full. Very clean tables and presented well.

It’s a great little village pub/restaurant. The food is of a high standard and fairly priced. The Red Lion is doing what it’s trying to do very well. I’ll be going back.
