The Relais is named in honour of our motorsports heritage and the menus celebrate our seaside location.

Just steps from the beach, The Rally Restaurant enjoys the best views in the house and a spacious terrace for seasonal al fresco dining.

Enjoy fresh and seasonal menus including the ‘catch of the day’ supplied by our local Sussex fishermen. Our menus change with the season with a focus on fish and seafood and locally sourced ingredients.

    One of our guests ordered a rare steak which had to be returned as it was too well cooked. The chocolate fondant pudding didn’t have a runny middle and tasted like an old chocolate sponge. A table of ten people close by had two children using their devices which were noisy and not what you expect at a supposedly upmarket hotel restaurant. It was a disappointing and expensive evening.

    Arrived at 1.10 for lunch food arrived at 1.50 Steak was almost raw not medium as requested and cold. I tried to eat it managed half but couldn’t continue told waitress who did not escalate it and didn’t want to send it back as would’ve waited goodness knows how long before food was brought back. As it was a birthday meal was not happy at £70 for 2 that I could only eat chips and mushroom.

    We have eaten here before.today was very disappointing.the service was so slow we sat down,after half an hour we got asked if we wanted water.after another wait we got asked if we wanted drinks.we decided to order our food to save time.the food was ok but very salty not as good as before,although my daughter loved her cottage pie. I ordered sticky toffee pudding and got bread and butter pudding I didn’t say anything as I didn’t want to wait another half hour so I just ate it. Won’t be coming again

    Staff were very friendly and attentive. We had three courses which were nicely paced so didn't feel rushed at all.

    Excellent Sunday lunch, large portions but unfortunately too large for us all to finish. A suggestion would be to have a smaller portion available on the menu especially for older people to avoid waste. Love the restaurant and staff, always welcoming and excellent service regardless whether you call in for a coffee or meal.
