Hawaii’s first and only Relais & Châteaux restaurant, The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea offers a 'culinary casual' experience with creative island-to-table cuisine. Menus are created around what is readily available from Maui’s farms and fisherman ensuring that each dish is prepared using only the finest local, seasonal and artisanal products; including those grown in the restaurant’s own orchard.

Very poor experience, especially at the $150 per person set rate without drinks or additions. My son ordered a strawberry daiquiri with whip cream for his Japanese wife who had never had one before. We were told they didn’t have whipped cream! We received our drinks, 4 rolls and salad over the course of a half hour or so. Then the real wait began. The waitress didn’t come back for at least another half hour and when my husband stopped her as she walked by to ask about our main course, she said it would be out shortly. More waiting. Finally the back waiter (who brought water and took empty plates) stopped to refill the water and we asked about our meals. He immediately got the manager who came over to apologize and tell us our entrees would be right out. He said our meals would be comped. An hour and a half after we first arrived at the restaurant, the entrees came, very lukewarm, but we were so hungry and tired of hassling with everything we just ate and got our desserts to go. We were comped only for the entree. The salads were $40 a piece. The drinks were obviously ours to pay for. Our total, without tip (we left the server $50 despite her lack of effort and gave the back server $20), was $296. We each had only 1 drink. Definitely an experience we could have done without.

I love this restaurant and they have really raised the bar…every dish was beautifully prepared and our server explained each dish with enthusiasm and detail. A must for visiting Maui..

This is one of our favorite restaurants. The serving ce is always impeccable and the food is swoon worthy. This trip was no different. Daniel, our waiter, was courteous, kind and intelligent, but was a wealth of knowledge about not only the menu, but about bourbon and whisky, which made my husband’s experience even better. We appreciated the attention to detail with regard to everything we ate. The food was well balanced in flavor and texture. We have come here on our yearly visits to Maui to celebrate my husband’s birthday for several years and we will continue to do so in the future. Thank you to everyone who made his birthday both memorable and delicious!

The views are great but the service isn’t friendly and is rather slow. It’s very stuffy. It feels like a place you’d take a business associate to impress but it’s a vacation destination. At check-in we were asked if we were celebrating anything and we told them it was our anniversary and another table was congratulated for their anniversary meanwhile no mention made to us. After the first course we were told second was coming shortly - 25 minutes later nothing happened. Then an apology. Then 15 minutes later it appeared. Pricey for meh.

I don’t care for a price fix menu and did not realize that was the case here. Service is excellent. Portions are on the smaller side. The restaurant and hotel are very dark. I nearly fell off the curb when I was leaving. Wine list is just ok. There are other restaurants for the amount of money that this place charges that I would elect to go to first.
