   Mitchel took great care of us on Mother’s Day. Great service. Food was also very good.

   I had high expectations, however, was severely disappointed. I was first seated at a 2-seat table with a friend, and it was too small. After sitting for about 5 minutes, no server greeted us. I then asked the hostess for a bigger table and there weren't any, so we sat at the bar. The bartender wasn't very personable and was also overworked. He was the only one serving about 25 people. Service to say was very slow. The food was also a disappointment. I had the filet medallions which was average and not served hot and the coleslaw was bland. My friend had a burger which was not hot and dry, and the side of a squash casserole was cold. For dessert, the apple pie with ice cream was ok. When it was time to leave, it took almost 20 minutes to get out of there. The bartender just had too much to do with drink orders and serving food. Last is that the bar is a mess in that new customers were standing behind me waiting for a seat. Management needs to control the flow of people and not allow them to crowd others. The atmosphere was interesting though. I will not be returning.

   We arrived for our 5:15 reservation and promptly ordered sweet teas and croissants. Shortly after, we placed our food orders. Despite the quick start, service quickly slowed. After a long wait, I asked the waiter about our salads—he said they’d be out shortly, though we still hadn’t received our bread. A few minutes later, the croissants finally arrived, followed by the salads, and then our entrées—before we’d even started eating the salads. The person who delivered the food rudely asked if we wanted it taken back. We declined, worried it would get cold—but by the time we finished our salads, the food was already cold. My meal was especially disappointing. The hamburger steak had a strong seafood taste, like it had been dragged through the ocean—it was terrible. They did remove it from the bill, and the manager apologized with several excuses, but it didn’t make up for the poor experience. Though this has long been one of our favorite upscale spots, it’ll be a while before we return.

   The music level was way too high. You have to practically shout to speak with your guests. Not a pleasant atmosphere. Seating for 2 was too small. With a 5 pm reservation we couldn’t get a decent seat.

   Great food and friendly service with live music. Our waitress suggested a half portion of ribs, which wasn’t on the menu. Plenty and less expensive. Appreciated that.

   Consistent with previous meals the food was fantastic, and the service was the best. Celebrating a Birthday and the overall experience was perfect. We asked for a table away from the live music as we wanted to socialize. Live music can be loud and prohibitive if you want to have conversation. If you are there for the music no issue it was good.
