Committed to serving the best seasonal and ethically sourced ingredients, Afternoon Tea and Dinner see British favourites offered with a Yorkshire twist from our expert chefs. Diners can also expect local beers and ales, a hand-selected wine offering, and signature cocktails.

Please note that for Afternoon Tea bookings, dietary requests (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, children's Afternoon Tea, etc.) must be pre-ordered at the time of booking. Regrettably, we cannot guarantee availability of dietary-specific Afternoon Teas on the day of your visit, if not ordered in advance.

Awarded ‘Best Afternoon Tea 2022’ by Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence, there’s nowhere quite like The Grand when it comes to dining in York. Please note that for Afternoon Tea bookings, dietary requests (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, children's) must be pre-ordered on booking. We cannot guarantee availability of dietary-specific Afternoon Teas on the day of your visit, if not ordered in advance. CANCELLATION POLICY Our booking system securely stores card details at the time of reservation; however, no deposit will be taken. We request that any cancellation be made no less than 24 hours prior to your booking date. In the event of a cancellation within this time frame, or following a no show, we will charge £20 per person.

Afternoon tea at The Rise Restaurant in The Grand Hotel York was exceptional. Delicious savoury dishes, sandwiches, warm scones and cream and beautiful patisserie desserts. The service from.the tram if staff was also fantastic. Attentive, polite, friendly, wonderful people. My second visit to The Grand and Rise, certainly not my last.

We had dinner The Rise whilst staying at the Grand Hotel. There were 6 of us celebrating a big birthday. The food and service were both excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

The afternoon tea was excellent, you can understand why it has been rated so highly. The waiting staff are fantastic and we were looked after from the moment we stepped in the building. Extremely enjoyable both my wife and myself would recommend eating at the grand.

A favourite for afternoon tea for years but this one was exceptional and would highly recommend. The presentation was a wow and will guess there is a wizard in the pastry staff. Much appreciated as is a regular haunt for anniversary.

Lovely bar area with friendly ,attentive staff. Then afternoon tea in the restaurant which was delicious . However, it took almost an hour from sitting down to getting our food . Had to ask for more hot drinks and cutlery.
