The Ritz on Union has a traditional heritage while bringing a modern flair. We pride ourselves on providing a good sense of value with exquisite taste, presentation, and ambience. We offer Italian Continental dishes, inherent to our Sicilian background, with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options for the most discerning of tastes, and our desserts are simply scrumptious. Enjoy cocktails and drink specials at our full bar.

During the pandemic of 2020, we demolished the old dining room portion of our facility and transformed it into The Ritz on Union. We styled a restaurant having a contemporary look, and focused the menu and service to provide the very best food and dining experience that Schenectady has to offer. In addition, we present the newest options for parties and gatherings, formal and work functions, and life events like showers, weddings and anniversaries. We can accommodate up to 65 people in our beautiful dining room.

We had a lovely Easter dinner at The Ritz! Our charming server, Syleena, was the best you could ask for, always helpful and friendly. Our three separate entrees allowed us to enjoy chicken, tenderloin, and salmon in delicious ways. Bravo and thanks to The Ritz team for their ongoing commitment to good food and service on Upper Union Street!!

Small but great ambiance. Excellent service. Hits the mark for date night or a nice family dinner. Bella has been our server twice and was perfect; she made recommendations, helped to have our food made to order, and accommodated food allergies. Bar to meet all of your drink needs including fun mocktails. This has quickly become our go to place.

It's too bad that this restaurant is trying so hard to be pretentious. The service was just fair - little things like a 10 minute wait to be seated when we had a reservation and the restaurant was barely half full. Then a long wait to order, hurried only when we said something. The restaurant was obviously not busy. No one ever checked on our satisfaction while eating or filled empty water glasses. The only service we received was upon our request; we even had to rise to walk to the bar to request bread as we waited. The food was good, but we will never go there again, in spite of its convenient location to us and a longtime relationship with Homestyle. The Ritz is competing poorly against quite a number of fine Italian restaurants in town.

This was an ok experience. We were early for our reservation but they seated us. The waiter seemed a little overwhelmed. I did the reservation online and he said we should always call to conform. Um...no. We ordered the frozen drinks special, a root beer float with bourbon. Unfortunately we did not get the bourbon, but we were also not charged fro it. My cheese steak sandwich was good and the fries were excellent. Unfortunately, my husband's sandwich was not great. He ordered the pulled pork, and it was dry, and there was no coleslaw on it, just a piece of lettuce. And he mentioned it tasted a little fishy. But he agreed that the fries were excellent. We were underwhelmed.

A perfect Friday evening! We were greeted warmly by Anthony, and had a choice of tables. We chose a high top tucked into a corner, giving us privacy and quiet. Our server, Nicole, was attentive, made suggestions when asked, and made sure our food came at the right time. We shared the buffalo chicken wing appetizer (fantastic); I had a small wedge salad (the sliced avocado was perfectly ripe and a wonderful touch) while my husband had an antipasto salad. He had short rib sliders as his entree while I had a personal pizza. Both were very good - he finished his while I ate a generous slice and the brought most of my pizza home. We had a lovely evening, great food, friendly service from Nicole, and attention from the owner. We are lucky to have this restaurant so close to where we live.

Enjoyed my first time here and during restaurant week. Three course menu for $20. Started with the strawberry spinach salad. It was delicious. The eggplant parm was a huge portion and my fav was the garlic knots. Last but not least was the ricotta zeppoles.
