“Almost Four Decades of Desert Dining Excellence continues under a new helm”.

As the former owner of the Adobe Garden Hotel and Irongate Restaurant in Palm Desert, Cunard’s in La Quinta, Robert Cunard’s in Palm Desert, and The Prevue in Rancho Mirage, Robert Cunard’s reputation as a restaurateur is well-established in the Coachella Valley.

He rebuilt the Sandbar, and has remained true to his tradition of quality cuisine and impeccable service.

Robert will pass the Helm of The Sandbar to Waldo Cesoni, a local seasoned Restauranteur who is already serving the Coachella Valley with Waldo’s Ristorante and Backstreet Bistro on El Paseo.

“Bob and I share the same passion for taking care of our guests and treat every one as family”, The Sandbar will continue with the same philosophy and culture for many more years to come.

Bill Baker playing music starting at 6:00PM ~ Tuesday through Saturday.

We had not been for awhile but brought some out of town friends there and we just had the best time !! Not sure why we have not been there for some time but will definitely be back there soon !! It had such a great atmosphere and the food and service were really outstanding !!

This place is a gem! Food and service are outstanding and the ambiance is that of an old school Italian restaurant. Would highly recommend!

The best part of our experience was service. It was completely spot on, warm, friendly with exceptional attention. The food was very good. We split a 5 piece fried chicken dish and we got 6 pieces! Plenty of food on a split plate. Flavor was good and could have used more spice. The ambience was lovely. Red leather booths adds to the charm. The piano man was fine and not too loud, so we could continue our conversation. We will definitely go back and try other dishes in the future.

We dined with friends, and appreciated that the noise level allowed for conversation, even with the entertainment which was very enjoyable. Our server, Melanie, was fantastic. This was our first visit, and we will return. The cannelloni was excellent, served with both Alfredo sauce and marinara sauce. My husband had the pork chop, and said it was very good and huge. The portion sizes are large. We enjoyed cocktails from the bar, and would order them again. All in allow recommend the Sandbar. As a side note, we had met the chef, George at an event in Palm Springs and he was very nice. That's what sparked our interest in visiting the Sandbar.

Servers were excellent. Attentive, helpful and friendly. Wonderful hostess/maitre d’ at door. Great valet parkers. Only issue was long wait for food due to our order getting in after a big party’s but our servers informed us. Loved the music from the bar! Overall a great time!

Sauteed Sole and veggies Fabulous!!! Two of our party had the Veal Piccata and it was not up to your incredible standards. Sandbar is my favorite LQ restaurant. Wanted you to know about the veal. Love, Love, Love the Sautéed Sole.

Did realize it would be so loud, was there for dinner meeting and singing was very loud Good Food, just really cold

Amazing evening at the Sandbar again! From the minute you arrive in the parking lot, the valet warmly greets you, the hostess is so welcoming, great servers and bartenders! The music by Bill Baker is just so much fun and the food is truly terrific! The house was packed and so much joy in the room!

The food was very good. The service was excellent. It is a little pricey. Pasta dishes at $36 seems a little high for me. Meatloaf special at $36 seems a little high for me - its $32 at Arnold Palmers
