We had a table in the upper section which is quieter than the ret of the Pub (which has football on TV at times) However, the piped music loudspeaker was close to our table, but the management were happy to turn the sound down so that we then enjoyed the evening meal and could hear ourselves talk! The Pub interior was nicely decorated for Valentines Day (albeit our visit was at the end of January!) The staff were very helpful and the atmosphere was good. We enjoyed the menu and the food was excellent.

Beautiful decor and very welcoming. All the staff were very accomodating and extremely polite and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Ship to anyone wanting a nice meal out.

We went for a roast dinner on Sunday and it was very good! We all cleared our plates which I think says a lot, but rest assured it wasn’t because the portions were small. I had the roast beef followed by the sticky toffee pudding which was also top notch! I can’t speak to the beers as I was driving, but there looked to be a good selection and everyone be else in the pub looked to be having a great time. Our waitress was also fantastic as she was keen to find us the right table to cater for our son who was in a high chair, and kept us updated with when our food was going to arrive (it was a little bit later than usual, but it was a busy Sunday evening so it was to be expected, anf if you’re kept informed there’s no issue). Will be going back!

Been here once before and the experience was very good which caused us to book again today. This time however the experience was far from ideal. There seemed not to be as many staff available, but some larger tables which meant that we were told there would be a wait. We were also only informed that the lunch menu would not be being served once we had arrived. Our drinks order was taken and the drinks had to be returned twice as incorrect. Once our food arrived the mushy peas were cold and on all three plates and were taken to be warmed. The food was nice but small portions for the price paid. We were also over charged on the bill for one drink, which we noticed. This was a real shame as it is a very nice place and the staff were kind and welcoming. Probably wouldn’t rush to return based on this experience.

Better than any Christmas lunch I’ve had anywhere. My husband & I have eaten in top rate restaurants for Christmas & all year round. Christmas 2024 was one of our best for food, service & ambience. The pub was decorated to perfection.

This pub is fast becoming a firm favourite - every time we go , they are so friendly and accommodating ! We have been this afternoon - Christmas Eve and just for drinks - and they were happy for us to do that, even though some pubs would insist on meals . The decoration is fabulous and we had a great time !

Had a lovely meal this evening. Served by super staff who obviously enjoy what they are doing. The pub is beautifully decorated with a fabulous festive vibe Would recommend and will go back soon
