The Springwood can be summed up effectively as a neighborhood restaurant, whose values, regarding the menu, focus greatly on locally sourced ingredients, hyper-seasonality, regenerative farming practices and minimizing waste.

The restaurant is the brainchild of local entrepreneurs Matthew Simpson (Chef) and Jasmine Lee (General Manager). Partners in business and in life since 2007.

To further their knowledge of the Hospitality industry they made their way to Downtown Toronto, where they were able to hone their crafts working in upscale and well-known restaurants for nine years. The end goal was always assured though, that they would come back to the town that gave them their start and help bring a special space to the place that they grew up.

As you make your way inside, you will be met with warm wood, lush plant life and funky art deco accents. We want this space to feel as though you are stepping into our home and we welcome you all to Come Over for Dinner.

    Join us for New Year's Eve at the Springwood. Chef has prepared a shared 4 course menu to ring in the New Year! Night of there will be optional supplements, as well as a 4 course wine pairing option. Please visit www.thespringwoodwhitby.com to view the menu beforehand. Some allergy and dietary modifications can be made but this will be the only menu available. If you would like to stay and ring in the New Year with us, please select a 9:30pm or later seating. Credit card is required to hold the reservation and will only be charged if cancelled within 48 hours of the date. Price does not include taxes and gratuities. Payment is due at the restaurant.

    Never skip the smoked trout dip. Get a drink with the egg white. Unbelievable food!

    This was our first time at The Springwood, but certainly will not be our last. We had a delightful dinner to celebrate an anniversary. The food was some of the best we’ve had. Service was simply top notch. A bit of sticker shock at the prices, for Whitby, but once we tasted the first bite there was no doubt we were in for a treat. We highly recommend The Springwood.

    This was my first time dining at The Springwood after several recommendations from friends. We brought my dad (who loves locally sourced food)for his 60th birthday. We were treated fantastically by every staff member. The menu items were explained thoroughly, and all our questions were answered. We opted for the tasting menu which allows for your table to share lots of dishes! The portions were generous and we each left with containers to bring home. The dishes brought for each course complimented each other so well and we all left quite full and very happy. I particularly loved the duck pate and the smoked trout dip… delicious. Cheers Springwood staff… we will be back!

     Our first time there, but definitely not our last! On recommendation of a friend, we did your taster menu called Come to Dinner and we did the ultimate indulgence as there are three cost tiers options to the experience… it did not disappoint.  Every course was tasty and more than enough food.  I had my first experience with eating oysters and all I can say is wow. Out meal as a whole was flavourful and exactly the right portion and the only thing I can recommend to others is that you try it for yourself. your staff was welcoming and knowledgable about every course. We will see you again very soon.

    We had an amazing dinner at The Springwood last night. We had the tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Will absolutely visit again!

    The best restaurant in Whitby! We always have the most amazing experience here- the food is absolutely incredible, atmosphere is super cozy and welcoming, and the staff are amazing and so attentive. Highly recommend!!
