   Just had a very disappointing experience here. My sons took me for a 70th birthday celebration. We are all foodies, and I chose the location. They brought me the wrong entree, and then told me it would take 10 minutes to cook the right one. I get it, it messed with their ability to turn the table quickly on a Friday, but their mistake, not mine. They then wanted to take the food away from the other guests, while cooking mine. We declined. My meal came, was very good, but they then took all the other plates off the table while I was still eating. Never asked if we wanted desert or anything further. Just because you haven't seen us every week doesn't mean we aren't good customers. Will think twice about coming back. I would have preferred to share this with you directly, but there is not an option to do that on your website. And giving me a glass of wine didn't make up for the lousy service. By the way, one of my sons is a prominent concierge in Boston and knows his way around hospitality. We were all very unhappy.

   I like Square Cafe. This was my second time being there. My other time was for lunch. I loved the tartar on the menu. We got the tenderloins and scallops and both were great. We also saved room for dessert which was also tasty. I wouldn't bring a large party (8+) as it migh be small but perfect for a date or few people.

   Service is excellent! Great bread. Eat here st least once a month and have never been disappointed. Try the cod.

   Hadn't been to The Square Cafe in years and then, only for lunch. But when a friend gave us a GC in exchange for some work, we decided to use it on our anniversary. Good decision. Square Cafe can be loud, and it was when we arrived, but shortly thereafter things quieted down and we could hear each other, no problem. I had the filet, not normally my first choice due to a typical lack of flavor, but because it came with a blue-cheese butter and our waitress recommended it, I gave it a go. Not only was it one of the best tenderloins I've ever had, it was up there with the best steaks I've ever had. Truly swoon-worthy. I was sad when it was gone. My husband had the Bolognese which he said was quite good. He made the mistake of tasting my filet though, and commented that mine was better. Service was attentive and fun (thank you Kate). I must say, I've never had a server give me her card at the end of the night. But if asking for a server by name is the new trend, then I'd happily ask for Kate.

   excellent in many ways: the ease of making a reservation, the very attentive service, the attractive set up inside the restaurant, the menu choices, the outstanding cuisine! we went at 5:30 so it was very quiet and we could enjoy our conversation. I would definitely return and recommend it to a friend!

   The food was delicious and every dish we ordered was big! Lots of food. Very healthy. Service was excellent. Very friendly.

   Square Cafe is our go to restaurant in Hingham. The waitstaff are knowledgeable and friendly, the service is great and the menu is varied (Asian themes and traditional American fare) and all of it is executed well. Tuna two ways, amazing beet salad, a terrific salmon, the options are terrific.

    Our waitress wasn't very friendly onr helpful. We are sisters catching up and felt very rushed that she kept asking us if we were ready to order. It was a Wednesday night, the place wasn't that busy that they needed to turn the table. My sister is vegan and there was barely anything for her to eat. I researched first and thought there was a noodle dish she could have but she coudn't. The salad she chose wasn't what we expected although it was good. My meal was very good but also not what I expected based on the description. Typically a good waitress, when they find out you have an allery or diet restriction will be helpful and even talk tpthe chef to see if there is anything that can be done to accomadate the restricition and help the diner find a great choice, this was not the case here. Upsetting. She basically told us there was nothing on the menu we could eat for dessert. :( Staff came over about 4 times to ask if they could clear our plates, even though we were still eating and talking. When choosing to go out to eat I really like friendly service from someone who seems like they are happy that you are there, even if perhaps they are having a bad day and can just fake it.
