The Standard. One of Hamilton's most revered restaurants, has laid down its roots on James St N. With our everchanging menu, seasonal & local inspiration and forward approach to dining, our commitment to excellence shows in everything we do. We strive to provide a memorable experience each day, it is just what we love to do.

From our in house butchery or cooking over charcoal, to working with local suppliers in our community We challenge the way we all think about Food & Drink.

The Chef's table is a 7-course, exclusive blind Tasting Menu, composed of the best of the season. These are ring side seats right in front of the Kitchen where you will get to see and experience the stress, pressure and rapid fire execution of how a fast-paced restaurant engine runs. This is not for the faint-hearted, your experience will give you a front row seat to how it all goes down. Strap in, it's going to be a hell of a ride. Elevate your experience with pairings from our reserve wine list or a mixology pairing form our bar team. Please note that we are unable to accommodate vegetarian, dairy/egg allergies, seafood allergies or aversions to raw meat/seafood. The Chef's Table was fantastic. There was lots of variety with each dish and the service was exceptional. Would highly recommend and can't wait to be back.

Picked this restaurant for brunch with a friend. Elegant decor welcomes customers with an impressive bar and comfortable dining area. Service is superb - we stayed long chatting away and felt welcomed. Food is well plated, good portion and delicious. We both had the egg benny with pork belly. The pork belly was crispy and cooked to the perfect texture. Being Cantonese Chinese we have our own roasted pork dish and I have to admit this pork belly rivals ours and excels.

Our first time visiting. Everything was amazing. The appetizers, mains, drinks, wine selection (and pricing) as well as dessert. This may be my new favourite spot! The server was amazing as well. Thanks Kate. Just wow!

Attended the 5 course Bavarian Beer dinner and was very impressed, especially it being their first time hosting an event like this. Food and beer were fantastic, pairings worked well, very friendly, informative. Did not leave hungry. I'll be going back for more!

Every meal I have had at the standard has been a 10/10 experience. From the food and drink to the atmosphere and service, the standard does it all perfectly. I would absolutely recommend making a stop here, its well worth it.

Normally great, but today not very good. Calamari was grossly overcooked, dry, crunchy, tasteless. Maybe a bad day.
