The origin of The Story Café emerged from the mantra “There is a story in everything”
So in 2018 when we fell upon a 30 year old warehouse, we saw the potential to transform the abandoned space into a warm, hospitable, unique eatery. Through consistent innovation, research and dedication we managed to blend our affinity for coffee, music, food and antique into a ambient mélange of vintage and nostalgia. Today, we proudly present our eatery to newcomers and are considered a staple in the Richmond community!

Excellent casual and interesting restaurant with great food a 7 minute walk from River Rock Casino. Had a very low key celebration with my sister who turned 75 and we loved our food, the waiter was super nice and good, and they even were generous enough without being asked to provide a cheesecake with happy birthday written in chocolate. She loved it! Highly recommend this cool place. Thank you!

Amazing food and service. A fantastic restaurant in an eclectic/shabby neighborhood of Richmond. If you want wonderful food and attentive service then this place is a must.

We had the most enjoyable dinners. Pre and post flights from YVR. We would recommend this establishment to anyone. All of the staff are number one!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Story Cafe, and I must say, it was an absolute gem! As someone who grew up locally but now only visits once a year, discovering this restaurant was a delightful surprise. I first came here for brunch with a friend and was so impressed that I immediately decided to bring my family back for dinner. When we arrived, we encountered an unexpected situation where another group had taken our reservation, claiming to be us. Despite the mix-up, the staff handled the situation with utmost grace and professionalism, quickly resolving it and ensuring we were well taken care of. The food was outstanding—every dish was flavorful and beautifully prepared. My friends and family all thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and the experience was nothing short of memorable. I truly hope that the exceptional quality of food and service remains consistent, as I can’t wait to return on my next visit home. Highly recommended!

got our table on time, waiter Timothy was excellent, thoroughly explained what's on the menu, food arrived as described, very good, we were celebrating birthday and hubby got free dessert, all in all a very enjoyable evening, thank you Story Cafe! we'll be back!!
