   Mains were delicious (pork chop and crab linguini) but unfortunately the starters and desserts let the overall meal down. Tempura samphire and mushrooms lacked flavour and seasoning, quite doughy, very non disrupt. Most disappointing thing was the sticky toffee pudding, incredibly dry and so hard, we actually sent it back as it was not nice to eat. We also saw another table barely touch theirs and just leave it on the table. There isn’t really any excuses for what was expected to be a quality restaurant not to get a classic British dessert right. Or at least edible. Panna cotta was nice but very small. Shame as service and atmosphere are great, price point is reasonable, but they need to give better attention to their starters and deserts to make it an overall better experience.

   We have visited several times previously. Good menu and great food. Busy restaurant but service was good. Noise levels were fine to hold a conversation. Would highly recommend.

   We always try and go to the Suffolk as a family when we visit. We have been multiple times now and the food is consistently excellent. The staff are friendly and has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend!

   We had a lovely meal a late birthday celebration. The food was really good and our waiter was friendly and helpful and went to great lengths to make a. cocktail that wasn’t on the menu but that we had sampled at Christmas which was really going the extra mile and very much appreciated.

   I was a solo diner at The Suffolk. Sometimes dining on your own can feel awkward. At The Suffolk, I felt so comfortable. The service was excellent. The timing of serving and removing plates was spot on. At no point did I feel rushed. I had the terrine with the most delicious piccalilli. I wish I had asked if the chef would share the recipe. I followed this with the langoustine scampi. I am a bit wary of having deep fried food as fat can upset me. This was beautifully cooked. If I'd had dinner as well as lunch, I'd have chosen the scampi again. I had not been planning on having dessert but I love rhubarb so I had to try it. It was so light and simply delicious. The wine menu was a bit expensive but the wine offered was first class. As for the cocktails and mocktails it was a mix of old friends and great creativity. Will I be back? Definitely.

   Our first visit to the Suffolk will not be the last. From the moment we arrived it was a faultless experience. The young staff were all delightful and efficient yet unobtrusive. The dining room was comfortable and provided the perfect setting for an excellent meal. Wine service was spot on, and all in all one of my best dining experiences in a long time.

   Our second time eating and staying at the Suffolk and every bit as good as the first, a year ago. Fairly short menu which keeps life simple, but everything on it is tempting and we were very happy with our choices - we had the whole brill for 2 as a main and it was superb. The staff are lovely, friendly but professional and really help the evening feel like a special event.

    Excellent, great service, friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, local staff. Food was amazing, best we’ve had in a long time. Top London quality food in seaside setting. Great value for money and locally sourced, ethical products used. Balance between seafood, fish and meat (from local ethical sources)
