Established in 1985, and located on Raglan Street, just off Princess Square in the heart of Harrogate, The Tannin Level is one of Harrogate's best loved and most renowned restaurants. Known for its wines (its name is a wine term after all!) as well as its food, it has garnered an enviable reputation amongst the towns sophisticated 'foodies'. The Tannin Level has a certain style and an unmistakable elegance, and its many original features combine to create the unique Tannin Level ambience.
The food is modern British with a Tannin Level twist, utilising only the very best seasonal ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible. As you might expect, all our food is freshly prepared by our chefs, which also means that if you have any special requirements, we can usually oblige. Our first visit to this restaurant and will definitely return . The service and food was great . No complaints at all . We all had a roast and throughly enjoyed it . The meat was very tender and vegetables were cooked to perfection, not forgetting the gorgeous cauliflower cheese . So yummy …..

This was our first time and it certainly won’t be our last. Had a lovely birthday lunch. We chose from the lunchtime special menu which had lots of variety to choose from and is exceptionally good value. Each dish was beautifully cooked and presented (loved the added sparkler in my dessert because it was my birthday). Service was excellent, attentive but not over the top and not rushed. Ambiance for a lunchtime just after New Year was great, plenty people in which tells you what a gem it is. Thank you for making my birthday so enjoyable. When we are next in Harrogate we will certainly return.

Outstanding food quality and presentation. Lovely venue and service. Excellent choice of dishes and all were absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Very well appointed restaurant, welcoming, lit candles, nicely set tables, we went for the mid week menu ( before 6.45pm), great choice and food well presented. BUT the starter was tiny, more of an amuse bouche size, tiny and not acceptable as a starter on any menu, the main was well cooked and presented but again the size you would find on a children’s menu.

Excellent lunch at this restaurant that’s been in Harrogate for as long as I remember Met with family to remember my father’s passing and this was a place he used to visit often

Stunning as usual, we had a lovely table. The menu was outstanding as usual as was the service always come for a festive treat. We will see you next year.

Too quiet. There was no ambience. I usually go to W&V, but thought I’d try you instead. I had to constantly ask to order something, it was too quiet - music needed to be louder and staff a little more professional.
