   Great service! The food and drinks were amazing! I do wish two things however, I had indicated with the reservation that it was a birthday and I hoped it would have been recognized, and secondly the spring fruit cobbler needed ice cream to go with it to off set the acidity in the berries. Everything else, I had zero opinions on.

   On May 3, 2025, my wife and I celebrated our 56th wedding anniversary at The Tarratine. A delightful young lady seated us at the front window table in a dining room which has the bar. We went early, for the 4:30 opening and, although other guests came and were seated in other rooms, we enjoyed a very private and quiet dining experience except for one time when the person tendimg bar had to shake a cocktail. The table was of perfect size for the two of us, our waitress was exemplary, and the foid was outstanding. I ordered the crab cake appetizer and was amazed to find them to be the best I have ever had in Maine. While not the the blue claw crabs served in Mayland, these crab caked far surpassed all crab cakes I have had in Maine. Both of us enjoyed caesar side salads with scallops. The salads were wonderful and the additional scallops were prepared to perfection. For an entree, my wife ordered the chicken roulade whuch was served along string beans on a bed of mashed potatoes. I enjoyed a meal of scallops, risotto, corn and pork belly. Everything we ate was absolutely delightful to the eye and the stomach. I should note that we were served ample portions and, although we passed on some delicious sounding deserts, we did not leave hungry. We enjoyed an outstanding dining experience for our 56th. Thank you for a delightful, memorable evening.

   Outstanding time there,. Service was excellent. The venue was historic The food was superb. Valet parking was available. Highly recommend this venue.

   We fell in love with The Terratine on our first visit! We were given a gift certificate from our children. We’d never heard tell of the place so looked it up online. The menu looked good so we gave it a try. It was a rainy evening but from the moment we were greeted by the friendly door man we felt warmly cared for. Our coats and umbrella were checked for us. We had a few moments to check out the beautifully ornate old Inn’s decor which was a clutter free, open, clean and very welcoming entrance space. We went up a wide staircase to our dining room. Our table for two wasn’t one of those teeny tiny tables that you can barely find room to put your evening bag but rather very spacious with lots of room to move all your plates and glasses etc. around on with no problem. Our server Makayla was expertly engaging. She gave us plenty of space and time to make our decisions and only engaged with us when we encouraged it. I especially like that we weren’t initially greeted with the standard wine & drink menu given to us and an ask if we’d like to start with a beverage. It was so refreshing that we were allowed to come to our own decision if we wanted to ask for a pre dinner beverage. Each one of our courses were nicely portioned and delicious. None of the courses were rushed or delayed. The timing of everything was expertly executed. I really liked that we had a few minutes of pause between the courses. We didn’t feel rushed in any way. Our dining room had several other parties in it but it was roomy enough in there and that we weren’t distracted from our own conversation. We ended the evening with sharing a unique strawberry crème brûlée that was surprisingly outstanding. If we could give more than 5 stars-we would! Our over all experience at The Terratine was “Outstanding”. We definitely will be going back. Thanks for a terrific night out Terratine staff. We can’t wait to see you again~💞

   Drinks and dinner on a Saturday night, everyone was friendly and professional. The food was exceptional - scallop appetizer and chicken main. My husband had crab cakes and the fillet. All were perfect. Will go back soon.

    The Tarratine never disappoints. Amazing food, excellent service, and excellent beverage selections. It's our go-to for intimate celebrations and an occasional bespoke cocktail.
