The Union is a contemporary restaurant and bar set in a beautiful 15th century building in the heart of Rye. Our menu is made up of small and large plates which we recommend sharing across the table. Our team will be on hand to guide you through your visit.

Our food is guided by the seasons and our menu is ingredient led so changes based on what we have available to us. We primarily use British produce and work with local suppliers to ensure we always source the very best ingredients we can get our hands on.

Steak to share was a wonderful experience and found no fault in the side dishes which were also plenty to share for two. Service was spot on as well as the wine available with a wonderful range of English wines. One of the finer restaurants in Rye…. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely dinner here! The ambience upstairs was a lot quieter than downstairs which was really cool, but did mean our dog settled down and slept. Lovely food and service - good proration sizes on most dishes. The char Sui Hake skewers are not to be missed!

Had an amazing Easter Sunday lunch yesterday at The Union. Food was delicious, staff attentive. Wasn’t our first time and once again didn’t disappoint will see you again for sure.

Seemed to have nothing. All vegetarian dishes not available - had to dine on a selection of vegetable side dishes. Oysters one guest wanted not available. Wine selected not available. Desert selected (salted caramel ice cream) not available. Far from a good experience and not what we’re used to from Union. Not sure what’s happened to the place.

No cheap , dont keep hassle me for the table , when no one is waiting and place is empty , dont enjoy pressure to leave , wont be back ... over all disappointed..

One of the best meals I've had out in a while. Oysters were fresh, menu was interesting and we had a delicious bottle of English wine recommended by the sommelier/waiter who understood exactly what we wanted. He and all the staff were all wonderful and I would absolutely come back. Probably the best place you're going to eat and drink in Rye/East Sussex. 100/10!
