Set high on a hilltop with breathtaking panoramic views of the Monterey Bay, The View, at Chaminade offers a unique dining experience. Indoor and outdoor seating allows guests to enjoy the naturally beautiful scenery which compliments the contemporary California Cuisine. Whether it’s sustainable seafood or locally grown produce, The View emphasizes natural ingredients while providing four-diamond service. A 4% surcharge will be added to all guest checks to help cover increases in labor costs and to support a higher minimum wage.

***Please note that our kitchen closes from 1:30pm-2:00pm to prepare for dinner service. Our bar and restaurant remain open during that time, offering a fine selection of local wines, craft beers, signature cocktails, and non-alcoholic refreshments to enjoy.

My family and I have eaten at Chaminade many times over many years and this was the worst experience ever. I’m sure they tried hard but it did not live up to the standards we are used to for this establishment. We were seated outside for dinner and when we realized how cold it was out there we asked to be seated inside but they could not accommodate our request. There were a few heaters but not enough. It’s not comfortable when you have to keep your wool jacket on during the whole meal. The food was mediocre. The rolls were cold ,the ham was extremely salty. We had to wait for about 10 minutes for mashed potatoes to be replenished. The desserts were too sweet. Everyone in our party was disappointed.

Thanksgiving buffet was fantastic. A wide variety of options meant everyone in our party found plenty of favorites. Desserts were mostly too sweet for us. Service was friendly and the outside seating was lovely, and unexpected! We lucked out with a beautiful day. Thanks to all the cooks, servers, and staff who made this all possible.

Best Thanksgiving ever. Perfect weather and my adult son and I sat on the terrace. I'm not usually a fan of corporate hotels or restaurants but the buffet was remarkable, the view breathtaking and we were not hurried. We asked about hiking trails and were given a map and pointed in the right direction. We took a lovely 3 mile hike along redwood trails afterwards. It's the irst time I haven't cooked a Thanksgiving meal in 35 years!

I ordered corned beef hash. It was not corned beef, but chunks of bacon (?), Ordered eggs over med, the whites were still runny. My friend had a club sandwich which is enjoyed. Waitress was very nice, service was good. Food never quite measures up. By the way, they were not busy at all.

While the view is nice, the service and food is subpar. Having to wait almost 5 minutes to be seated due to the fact that the hostess has to take a restroom break is a sign for a not well-coordinated restaurant team. After placing our order, we saw our waiter only once again, and that was when we paid at the front counter. No checking with us if everything was okay, if we needed anything else, etc. And the food was only average, with the French toast being burnt.

We went to The View to celebrate our anniversary. Requested an inside table, and were seated outside on bar stools facing out. Beautiful view, but we were hoping for a table to be able to look at each other. Ended up moving inside, and I think that's what threw everything off. It seemed there was only one server working the entire patio, and he did not really have time to provide attentive service inside. We ordered a bottle of wine, an appetizer, salads, and entrees. The appetizer, crab cakes, came out and was cold. All of the food was delivered by food runners. Unfortunately, no one came to check on how the appetizer was, so we ended up not eating it. Salads came next and were decent. I had the roasted beet salad, but it should have said canned beets salad. The entrees were delivered while salads were still on the table, so asked that the salads be cleared. That left us with no cutlery to eat our main courses. Had to ask for cutlery. I had the halibut and asked for lemon, and that was the one time we saw the waiter during the meal. He delivered me lemon wedges from the bar on a toothpick that he was holding in his hand. No one ever refilled our wine glasses the entire meal. Overall, the food was okay, but the service is what really made this a very disappointing experience. We were hoping this would be a memorable meal to celebrate our anniversary, but instead, it was extremely disappointing. Will not be going back.
