Water Wheel Tavern is an historic Bucks County landmark originally built in 1714 by John Dyer, an English Quaker. It existed for centuries as a water wheel driven grist mill, and later hosted both a post office and a general store. The mill was transformed into an inn and tavern with the repeal of prohibition in 1933.

Now, after an extensive industrial chic renovation, we invite you to experience our comfortable ambiance, diverse menu and hard working professional staff!

My family and I arrived early for our reservation, after checking in we told the host that we would be at the bar. We had to remind the host that we were there. Our food was cold and our filet mignon were over cooked and dry. Lastly it was terribly over priced.

We’ve been to Waterwheel many times and the food has been consistently good which is why we chose to eat our New Years Eve dinner there. But we were disappointed with our food last night. Both the crab cakes and the cod did not taste right and wasn’t prepared well. We did not enjoy our food. On a positive note the desert, ‘Grandma’s Cake’ was excellent. Hopefully this was just a bad night and will not be a recurring issue at Waterwheel. At some point we’ll give them another try since we’ve usually had a very good dining experience.

Enjoyed dinner in the bar area on New Year’s Eve. There was live music, and the food was delicious. Our server Katie was awesome.

Excellent dinner, great service and overall cool place to hangout. Spent some time at the bar watching the football game with friends. Great TV's and atmosphere. Just strange that the place was closing at 9.

The food is always excellent, with innovative twists. The service was great, the staff is always pleasant, and you're never rushed. Brunch today, but lunch, dinner, or just drinks, a trip to The Water Wheel is NEVER a disappointment!

Very nice restaurant. We had a great dinner! Everything was perfect! Deffinatly will go back again! And I want the Wednesday Prime Ribb special!!!

This was our first time at the Water Wheel. I had the Airline Chicken. The sauce is simple, light and compliments the chicken, which was tender and moist. The potatoes were very different. I’m guessing they are a twice cooked new potato with a crispy outer layer, but a creamy center. The asparagus was not too thick and had just a little snap. They were very busy, but the service was good. The noise level is a bit high, but given the large space with hard wood floors it wasn’t that bad.

My wife and I had an early lunch here the day after Thanksgiving. The food and service was very good in a pleasant ambience.

Overall pleasant experience. My only complaint was the soup was not hot. I had to ask for it to be reheated.
