Live Jazz at the Whitby Bar is returning every Friday night from 6pm to 9pm. Enjoy classic Negroni cocktails as you listen to live jazz music from The Sam Taylor Trio.

For our Afternoon Tea service, please book via Open Table through the EXPERIENCE option. To confirm your afternoon tea reservation, we require a credit card for our cancellation policy. Should you cancel within 24 hours of the booking, a $50/pp cancellation fee will incur.

Join us at The Whitby Bar for a delicious Afternoon Tea served in the colorful restaurant or the elegant Orangery. Served on Kit Kemp's beautiful Sailor's Farewell Wedgwood china, enjoy delectable finger sandwiches, including smoked salmon mousse, Egg salad remoulade, selection of mouthwatering cakes and homemade scones with clotted cream and preserves. $75 per person or $95 including a glass of Joseph Perrier. Afternoon Tea service reservations are booked through the experience. We ask you to cancel your reservation by 10pm the day prior. We have a 5 minute grace period in case you are running late. Please call 646-928-4207 If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions. Special requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance.

Excellent classic and traditional afternoon tea. The scones, in particular, were wonderful - warm, fresh and delicious. The hotel is very cute with interesting decor and Wedgewood china.

The Whitby Bar and Restaurant is one of my favorite places in NYC. I often take clients there and meet friends for tea, cocktails or a meal. Today was an off day for this wonderful restaurant. My lunch didn’t arrive after my friend was already half way through with hers. The waiter repeatedly said it would arrive soon but it didn’t. I finally cancelled the order. I am not sure what the issue was today but it was certainly very different from my usual experience at The Whiitby.

It’s a beautiful room to have high tea in and the food was fresh and tasty, but the sandwiches we’re not very inspired. Tia Tiffany’s example of a bagel and a lobster roll and other types of bread and not just white and wheat bread. Also If there was too much bread versus filling Ratio. We got caviar and it only came with parsley and crème fraîche so we had to ask for chopped egg which they couldn’t do and minced onion which they accommodated. I like that you use real looseleaf tea. That’s a plus. Pastries were good, but scones were dry. Pretty room but room for improvement in the kitchen.
