The Whitman–an all-new restaurant concept by Bal Harbour Shops, designed exclusively for the Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-up. The Whitman name draws inspiration from The Whitman by The Sea– a luxury Miami Beach hotel owned by the Whitman family in the 1940s.
The Whitman brings the iconic dining experience of Bal Harbour Shops to life through its breezy indoor-outdoor space. Evoking a decadent lifestyle of leisure, the palm-framed courtyard retains the idyllic al fresco environment of the Shops. Fun experience! And Lorenz was a great server!!! Just a little bit of an awkward set up for more than 2 ppl sitting inside due to the tables all being for 2 ppl (understandable, given the limited space with the container set up). Outside might be better but it was a little cold. Food was good. Shareable Crispy Chicken was a bit dry but the chicken served with the salad was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Short rib was cooked well as well and chili sauce was tasty.

My husband and I had a great time at the pop-up Whitman. We decided to spend our Valentines there for a different experience than our usual restaurant of choice. We were well pleased with the food and the staff was excellent. We will return.

What a wonderful experience!! The hostess and servers were all very polite and friendly and very professional. The food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance warm and cheerful. We will go back!

I wanted to take my wife here for our Valentines Day dinner at the Mount Pleasant, SC location. We didn't like that they wanted us to download an app and give them our names and emails. We didn't do it, and they entered us into the system manually with my first and last name. We made reservations for standard seating, but we're forced to sit outside in 50-degree temperatures. We ended up leaving and going to Palmira, where we ate indoors for half the price. It would have been a better experience if they had done the pop-up during warmer weather.

We took a short walk from the Kravis Center (where we saw a matinee) to City Place. My friend wanted to check out the Whitman and we're glad we did! Initial service was very good, but a bit spotty after our first drinks and plates were empty. It was happy hour so we ordered $12 specialty cocktails and $5 red wine. We enjoyed all three featured appetizers and then the brussels sprouts. Delicious, all! Shops were filled with high end luxury items. Very well done for a pop-up location.
