As you would expect from a restaurant nestled on the coast of Northumberland, we have cast out the net when it comes to freshly caught local seafood.     Firstly it was absolutely freezing when we walked in and quite frankly if we just came for a drink we would have walked straight back out. We asked to sit in the dining area where a log burner heated the room. We sat down at our table, food very fast from the kitchen a little too fast to be honest and was moderate to fair and extremely overpriced. Staff very attentive and chatty.

    Nice enough spot. My chicken burger was very tasty but the bun was soggy and the chilli jam somewhat overpowering. Served with very basic bits of lettuce and some onion. Premium price for an average meal. My wife’s fish was very good however. Service good. Food overpriced for what it was.

    I was shown immediately to my table on arrival and asked for my drink order while I viewed the menu. My food was served and it was clear it has been freshly cooked, hot and full of flavour. The waiting staff checked on me during my meal but weren’t overbearing. I was on a tight timescale but still had a very pleasant lunch.
