Tokyo Wako in Ontario offers a large selection of sushi and other Japanese cuisine. Appetizers at Tokyo Wako include truffle butter edamame, shrimp tempura, calamari ring tempura, pocky ball and deep fried squid. If you would like to start your meal with a soup or salad, try the miso soup, mixed seaweed and cucumber salad, kale salad or salmon skin salad. Sushi and sashimi selections at Tokyo Wako include yellowtail, salmon, tuna, salmon roe, albacore, halibut and more. Guests can also choose from a number of specialty rolls, as well, including the firecracker roll, dynamite roll, rising sun roll, vegetable roll and the Tokyo Wako roll.

It was my sons birthday and I am sure the chef was brand new. She did not even acknowledge anyone at the table. She had no communication with us what so ever. No tricks, no nothing. I have been to this restaurant many times and had so much fun but last night I was not impressed. We hardly got any vegetables, many onions.

Great, energetic, funny, and wonderful cook! Not to mention the food was well seasoned.

Our chef didn’t seem to entertain us like the other chefs on the floor. Additionally we mentioned that 2 people had birthdays on our table and they forgot all about it.

Great food-tremendous amount of choices. Staff was very efficient and friendly.

Our chef, Alexander, was fantastic. He put on a great show and even laughed (with rolling eyes 🙄) at a "dad joke." The only issue we had was the lobster tasted old, like it was in the refrigerator for a long time. We will go back, maybe not ordering the lobster.

It was our first time there, and the food was incredibly delicious… the service was excellent. The cook was awesome. The only thing is it was very quiet. They need some type of music to be playing to make it exciting and fun to be there especially when you’re spending that kind of money…. I would definitely go back. I was very pleased with everything, except for the restaurant being so quiet.

Food was very expensive and just okay in taste/quality. Service was very good- chef was entertaining and engaging; host was nice too. Don’t think we will be going back.

We made a reservation for 8pm and did not get seated until 8:30 (mind you it was not busy.. 1st red flag) finally seated us at 8:45 at a a table with stains and dirty dishes still at the table. Sat until 9pm without a waitress asking for our drink orders. By 9:15 I had to pull a waitress to the side and she took our drink order. Chef Riot came out at 9:30 and began cooking, he was very good and entertaining. I enjoyed my rising sun roll, lychee martini, and hibachi but the service was poor.

Service was great, restaurant was clean, and Chef Riot was outstanding! He interacted with us the whole time, and the food was superb! We had not been there in a while, but we are planning to return soon. This visit put all the other teppan restaurants to shame. This was an amazing experience that I will definitely have again.
