We serve eclectic Japanese-American cuisine and serious wine in a former adult video store. Since opening, Tomo has received recognition as one of the country's best new restaurants by Esquire and Robb Report and has been nominated for Outstanding Wine Program by the James Beard Foundation.

Chef Brady Ishiwata Williams’ menus are personal, and feature outstanding ingredients prepared simply and with confidence.

Our wine program highlights rare and ephemeral wines made by creative, principled people. We also serve a variety of classic and seasonal cocktails, emphasizing small-batch spirits and quality nonalcoholic options.

Tomo is thrilled to welcome ice cream maverick and Salt & Straw co-founder Tyler Malek for the next dinner in our BUDS series. Known for transforming ingredients like olive oil and blue cheese into scoops that Disneyland crowds line up for, Malek brings his signature creativity and his new cookbook to a five-course collaboration with our own Brady Ishiwata Williams. Each course pairs a two-bite ice cream creation with a savory counterpart like sakura-strawberry dippin’ dots atop sour cream panna cotta, served alongside halibut crudo in strawberry juice with green almonds. It’s the kind of sweet-meets-savory magic that only makes sense once you’ve tasted it. If you’re into the adventurous space between dessert and dinner, you’ll want a seat at this table. Tickets are $165/per person plus 22% service charge and tax. Include is the tasting menu and a copy of the cookbook America’s Most Iconic Ice Creams by Tyler Malek and JJ Goode (release date April 29th, 2025). ***All sales are final. There are no exceptions to this policy. You are welcome to give your reservation to another person if you are not able to attend. As this is a special menu, we are not able to accommodate any allergies or dietary restrictions. This menu will not be vegetarian.

Went here for my birthday. Ambiance, staff, service was all wonderful! We ordered “Tokyo Drifter?” From the menu which was delicious but tasted like a basic Old Fashioned. The cultured butter with the bread was delicious. Silky egg custard was good and had the most Japanese flavor to it. Two other dishes tasted more Chinese than Japanese w the chili crunch (crab rice) and halibut sauce. Went there expecting delicate Japanese fusion flavors and was a bit disappointed as it was more Chinese. Also- as we walked out the door the bartender said “Is it your birthday? Happy birthday!” Which I found strange that she knew but didn’t say it earlier. Many places have offered a complimentary dessert or drink on my birthday so that felt a little odd too if she knew.

We had a wonderful 50th birthday celebration for a girlfriend of mine. It was all of our groups first time and we loved it. We will be back.

Everything was incredible. We were lucky enough to have a table looking directly into the kitchen and it was an impressive show out on by everyone involved. The food was insanely good.

We were so disappointed with the Valentine’s dinner when we’ve had a good experience every other time we’ve gone. I’d advise against special menus.

Experience was okay to good. The set menu actually was not bad but for the price we paid, the lackluster explanation of the food, and the very deceptive thing of saying that the service charge is withheld by Tomo made us think that the servers were not getting paid. We had to look up the website if the servers were getting paid and the wording of "tip" was very shady. Proper explanation like Molly Moon where the servers are getting paid would be good to understand. Ended up paying $500+ for a so-so set menu, 1 accompaniment and just 1 non-alcoholic drink and 3 small bottles of sparkling water was way over priced.
