Terra restaurant is located at Tottington Manor which is beautifully situated in the South Downs National Park with hillside and farmland views, yet it is just 10 minutes from the A23 at Pyecombe and the A27 at Shoreham.

With a menu showcasing the best of local ingredients cooked fresh each day by our team of chefs, you can enjoy dinner in the restaurant, or outside on our decking, or in winter time, choose our more relaxed fire side Olive Restaurant.

In addition we have a number of private dining options available from 6 to 95.

Our South Downs Suite is completely separate with its own private garden, stretch tent and bar and is ideal for family celebrations, parties and of course Weddings. Another fabulous lunch at Tottington Manor. We received a warm welcome from the front of house team and were shown straight to our table where we were introduced to Eve who looked after us from there on in. The menu gave us food for thought (excuse the pun) as all the choices sounded delicious. I opted for the beets and goats cheese which was light and not too filling before my main of a lamb burger with chunky chips. The burger was absolutely amazing, homemade and topped with fried halloumi and then two slices of roast lamb, all served in a brioche bun! My fellow diners all had a roast dinner (2 of them chose the sharing board which had 3 meats and they said all were cooked to perfection) and they all said how good the food was. We were helped with our wine selection by Eve who has a very good knowledge of the wines available and we opted for a Merlot, a Malbec and a pinot grigio blush all of which were excellent. We all had a dessert, my cheeseboard was fabulous and I especially enjoyed the honey that was served with it, an unusual accompaniment but perfect with all 4 of the cheeses. The restaurant was very busy but not at all noisy and the service was prompt without feeling you were being rushed in any way. Whilst it’s not a cheap meal out considering we all had 3 courses, 3 bottles of wine and after dinner liqueurs it was excellent value for money! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Terra restaurant and Tottington Manor.

We have just had a lovely Sunday Lunch. the beef was tender and the gravy was tasty. It was made all the better by the efficient, cheerful and helpful staff. Back again for another lunch next month

We attended Tottington Manor for afternoon tea a few days ago having been gifted a voucher for Christmas. Our experience was most enjoyable very welcoming as we arrived paying attention to our dog which was appreciated treats and bowl of water. The standard of cakes and savourys we had were delicious and the array if teas to be chosen were incredible. Would recommend very good value.

This was my second visit to Tottington Manor as a follow-up to a function I attended late last year, and my first visit to Terra. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the very charming Louis, Tottington'a General Manager, who was charming and is clearly a real asset to Tottington. We were seated quickly and left to peruse the menu and our orders were taken soon thereafter although we were not rushed. My mother and I both chose to skip the starters and go straight for a main course. Mum had lamb while I had the chicken dish and both were exceptional - beautifully presented and cooked and seasoned to perfection. We then opted for the mini bite size desserts which were a taste sensation, if a tad small. All in all this was a really pleasing visit where we enjoyed superb food and excellent yet very discreet service which I very much appreciated. Indeed, I am already planning my next visit with a very discerning friend who I am hoping will be similarly impressed. My sincere thanks to Louis and the wider team, and a very big pat on the back to all.

The weather when we went to Terra was appalling and as a result we were the only diners to show up! However, we were very impressed by the warm and friendly welcome we received. Our coats and umbrellas were taken from us and hung up which we found to be an excellent service that is lacking in most other establishments these days. We were shown to the lounge where our pre dinner drinks were served to us and we were given the menus to peruse. When we were ready we were shown into their warmly and attractively decorated dining room and ordered our meals. My husband opted for the homemade pie of beef and lamb in red wine gravy and I chose 2 starters - Sussex Smokie and a duck moose with a red currant sauce served in a puff pastry brioche. We chose a glass of red wine, Rioja for me and a Shiraz for Alan to accompany the meal. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We indulged ourselves with a sticky chocolate and toffee pudding with a brandy snap and Chantilly cream for me and I can’t remember what Alan had but we shared them and they were delicious! The staff were charming and very attentive and even though we were the only diners, we had a lovely evening and will definitely go back.
