I had such high expectations for my first date night post lockdown. The disappointment came fast. Reservation was for 9, it still took half an hour for the hostess to take us to our table. I had asked for a table during our reservation, but they tried to give us the worst one, the one almost blocking the entrance. We ended up choosing the bar instead.They sat us at the bar, and it was straight up sticky. I had to ask them to wipe the counter. I was grossed out by the fact that my glass was face down on that nasty counter. The food and drinks came out quickly and were good, except for the rice and the beans, which lacked flavour. Since the food was tasty and the music was good, we tried to make the best of it. But then, even though we still had food and drinks in front of us, the rude hostess came to tell us our hour and a half was up and we basically had to go. Where they do that at?! Despite all that, we tipped well since the servers did their best and were in no way responsable for the management/hostess. I am truly disappointed. I don't think I'll be going back, nor will I be recommending it.

Only disappointment was I asked not to be seated at the bar and we unfortunately were. Turned out to be a good thing cause we were able to stay longer !! Great place, always good times when we go there.

It’s Saturday night; two of my friends are in town from Toronto. I wanted a fun and vibrant place, and Tropikal popped in my head. I love this place. Thankfully, we made reservations in advance, because this place was hopping. The service was excellent, our waitress was very attentive. We started with our cocktails, and I asked for a Remy cocktail which has coffee as a part of the ingredients. It was a long day, and that shot of caffeine was really appreciated and the drink was an absolute marvel. Then my boyfriend and I shared the appetizer of plantains with aioli sauce. It was really “wow “, then for our main dish we had the goat curry with beans and rice and a piece of roti. It was delicious; I wish the spice level was slightly elevated. The experience of this place is always a joy, and I am really glad my friends had a great time.

Organisation à revoir et professionnalisme du personnel également. Les plats sont très bons et copieux et l’ambiance et au rendez vous! Je ne sais pas si je reviendrais néanmoins car le service est assez long et les réservations sont chaotiques

The restaurant wasn’t open at noon. Came back later, to a super rude and cocky owner. I will no longer recommend this restaurant -100000.

The hostess calls me 15 minutes before the reservation and tells me if I'm not here on time she will give my reservation away (which is fine., I understand). But then we are here on time and we wait for 1 hour+ to sit at a table. (The hostess was still rude and didn't bother to apologize at least once) The food is not really tasty. But the decorations and ambiance are fine. I wouldn't go there if you want to eat a tasty meal. Maybe just for a drink. But I can't recommend it.

J’ai encore jamais vu de plats créoles non servis de bananes séchés (plantains) le type de riz utilisé n’est pas le plus adéquat pour un plat de griot. Pas de différents choix de riz, la musique est trop forte et le staff de gestion faisait énormément de bruit en déplaçant des chaises et des tabourets pendant l’heure du repas. Ce n’est pas pour être déplaisant, mais au contraire des critiques constructives afin d’améliorer le menu, l’ambiance et la générosité des plats. Bonne chance dans le futur.

Jerk chicken was good but food could have been a little warmer. Hostess has quite helpful in getting us a cab. No Uber around. Mojito cocktail was very good. We enjoyed our meal but I not sure we would return. No wines were available.
