Ok. Maybe I expected amazing after all the reviews about this place but there are definitely things that need sorting. Location is super odd. Destination only for sure. Not a place you could get cocktails and go somewhere else for example. Ambiance was cool. Could have dimmed the lights slightly to make the vibe a little better. Cocktails were great. We sat at the bar which we always enjoy. Ok. Here’s the bad news. The food was just ok. Menu is limited and a little strange. I see where they were trying to go but just missed the mark. Too pricey for what you get. Maybe we just chose wrong. Sunchokes were a miss for me. And the steak was half fat (which I realize some people like). Anyways. I’m going to give it a few months and see if they get the menu sorted before I give it a second try.

One of the best culinary events in a long time. Everything about True Wild was exceptional. The room The music The service The food……. Bone Marrow Toast Porchetta di testi Broccoli salad Steelhead with a very nice Sauv Blanc bottle of vino ➰

Service was lacking. Drinks were slow to come and had to get our own water a couple times. Forgot two of our dishes so brought mushrooms and salad when we were done the mains. They should mention it’s family style dining. Food and ambiance was amazing. The food alone would have me coming back.

What a cool location and fantastic use of a heritage space. We were immediately welcomed and seated in a cozy spot between the open kitchen and windows into the distillery. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Our meals choices were excellent, arriving quickly and piping hot. Dessert was tasty too. We’ll be back and time it with a distillery tour. A super addition to Calgarys restaurant scene!

We stopped here for drinks and an appetizer before dinner plans. It was such a beautiful experience. The drinks were great and we tried the pork on bread and yum!!! Definitely recommend!

Might be my new favorite restaurant in Calgary! First of all, the building inside and out is beautiful. The seating is comfortable and the atmosphere is inviting. Started with the Beef Tartare and the Bone Marrow Toast. The Tartare was solid with the crispy potatoes and high quality beef, but the Toast was beyond delicious. One of my favorite dishes I've ever had! Then we shared the Salt and Vinegar Sunchokes and the 20 oz. Ribeye. The sunchokes were very unique and we really enjoyed them. The steak was amazing! Perfect cook and seasonings, tender, and buttery. Also tried 4 different cocktails and enjoyed them all.

The space is beautiful and the food was delicious. The sunchokes are a must try. The menu is small but with great options to share or individual portions -all very well executed. I will definitely be returning
