Trummer's Restaurant recently underwent a 10 year renovation and relaunch in Historic Clifton. This is where New York City meets Historical Charm. Owners Stefan and Victoria Trummer bring their extensive New York City restaurant experience and passion to small town Clifton to offer a unique dining experience.

There will be no Gruner Veltliner but there will be varietals you've never tried (and never tried pronouncing!). Stefan and his dear friend Klaus Wittauer , Austrian wine importer, tasted through some of the more unique varietals in our cellar and worked together with chef Zachary Ridenhour to pull together an Austrian wine experience not to be missed! Another great dinner at Trummers. Food was outstanding. Bar was a little backed up with getting drinks but our waiter was fantastic and offered glasses of champagne while we waited. Always have a great experience at Trummers.

I took my husband for his sixtieth birthday. The house-created cocktails were fun. The wine list was extensive, with great choices at several price points. John, our server, had great recommendations and was very attentive. From the soup to dessert, the food was exceptional. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you.

All staff were quite attentive from being seated at table with full disclosure of the room, selection of food items with preferences and the signature beverage, Titanic. The the apples, and fruit chutney made the perfect Brie appetizer . The oysters were prepared to allow full flavor over romaine lettuce. The Smash burger, truffle fries and chicken Waldorf salad did not disappoint. The server Jojo provided conversation appropriate to present food without gaps in time. Jojo checked in constantly to see if food items needed to be added or removed. Great personality from Reservationist, Server and Bar staff!

Very disappointing experience for what is rated one of the top restaurants in VA. Admittedly it was Valentines weekend but even with a limited menu, the food was average at most. Shrimp & Grits was the best dish. The pork was overcooked and dry - I’m not even sure it was cooked that night or if it was reheated. The cheesecake dessert looked like it had been sitting out for days and tasted the same - dry and flavorless. Based on this first experience, not sure I’m even willing to give it a second chance.

We were so looking forward to finally trying Trummer's Restaurant. My husband and I went for drinks and dinner on Saturday, February 15th so it was a pre-fixed 3 course Valentine's menu but we both liked the menu choices and the price did not seem unreasonable for those choices and the caliber of the restaurant. The seating at the bar, the bar selection, and service all started us off right! When we went for dinner upstairs we were sat in a dining room I did not see featured in photos and it was less appealing (I did peek at the other dining room in photos and that was gorgeous but we wished we had stayed at the bar for where we were sat). The service we received upstairs was also very good. The appetizers were good, my scallops were great but the risotto served on a flat plate was undercooked, and the single pork chop my husband received was a pork chop you would buy in a pack from a standard grocery store and it was cut in half, thin, and dry. The red velvet cheesecake sounded amazing but it was hard and dry and and had a top swirl of red velvet. Overall, for what we expected, we were disappointed. The bar atmosphere and service were the best parts. I was disappointed the food was underwhelming and some of it frankly not baked or cooked right. We would go back to sit at the bar and order an appetizer and go from there. I can't recommend, based on our experience, that we would pay for what we experienced and unfortunately because I really was looking forward to!

Beautiful environment in the dining room but as far as the food, not as impressive. We live nearby and hoped it would be better than our previous experience there but we do much tastier salmon at home. The cheesecake dessert looked good but again, we can make a much better one at home. Venison steak was tasty, probably the best dish we had. Overall, disappointing especially for Valentine’s Day dinner out.

Wonderful venue for a birthday celebration. The fixed Valentine’s Day menu was superb and the service was excellent. A great meal and great choice.
