Translated from the Japanese word “home,” the original Uchi is located in a refurbished South Austin bungalow. Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole’s signature non-traditional take on Japanese food has delighted Austin’s diverse dining crowd as well as visitors from across the country and around the world since 2003. Reservations are encouraged and can be made up to 1 month in advance. Walk-in seating is limited to the Sushi Bar and is subject to wait times. Patio seating is weather permitting and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. We look forward to serving you, Kanpai!

    A must visit. Book table 2-3 wks in advanced. By far one of the best sushi restaurant I’ve been to in the U.S. The cuts were fresh, extremely tasteful leaving me wanting more. The staff was extremely professional and knew their food. great atmosphere! Will definitely visit again and again. Great job by the Chefs and staff.

    Changes in the happy hour menu required us to ad lib with some selections from regular menu. So our bill was a bit higher than we’re accustomed. Sea bream nigiri and Hama chili from main menu were essential. Double orders of hotate from happy hour were fantastic. I continue to be flabbergasted by Uchi’s consistency and extraordinary quality.

    Absolutely delicious. Wonderful service. Did the omakase - expensive, but well well worth it. Our waiter Arvin made the experience truly memorable.
