Ulu Kitchen by Merriman is an ocean front restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner service featuring local ingredients and recipes created by chef Peter Merriman.

We have indoor and outdoor dining options, with a full bar, and the most prime dining views in all of Ka'anapali. The breakfast menu features classic favorites like Eggs Benedits, omelettes, pancakes, as well as some unique dishes like the cure (breakfast ramen) and our Hawaiian chilaquiles.

Lunch features our signature smash burger, fresh ahi tuna poke bowl, tempura battered fish and chips, and a fresh local veggie wrap.

Dinner has a seafood forward menu featuring Ahi Sashimi, Grilled Tako, Scallops, Mahi Mahi, Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli. From the land we offer a USDA Prime Beef Filet Mignon, Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Cheeseburger, and Maui Nut Venison Loin.

Disappointed in this place. Had the potential to be a great meal, but it failed. When we arrived, we were stunned on how beautiful the location was. Great start. Seated quickly and our waitress asked for our drink order and appetizers. Those were brought quickly also. The monkeypod mai thai was good and the corn chowder was good. The clams were ok. It started to sprinkle and we were offered a table inside. We accepted the offer and moved inside. This is where things turned. It took approximately 30 minutes to get the rest of our order, the hamburger and macadamian nut fish. Not sure what happened, but there was lack of communication somewhere and it appeared to upset our waitress, and didn’t get any response from for approximately 20 minutes. Finally the food came out. The burger was ok, but the fries were burnt. The fish was soggy and lacked the crust that is usual with mac nut fish. Expected better service and better food for a $200+ meal. Won’t return back.

Nice server, good food, but short staffed today resulting in slow service and incorrect order (forgot to include bacon and mixed up orders). Offered a 10% discount however we already had a 10% discount offer that they would not honor. Would give a second chance in hopes that todays staffing problem was a fluke.

Food was amazing but prices are crazy. Dinner for 5 with one cocktail/wine per person and two apps was just under $1,000!!

We spend 21 days every year in Maui. We eat out for dinner 18 nights We only go to Merriman's Kapalua and Monkeyod in Whalers Village - always EXCELLENT. We thought we would try Merriman's Ula @ The Westin for my 70 th Birthday. We requested a table outside up front during first seating at 5:45. Beautiful weather. What we got was: 1) The WORST TABLE IN THE RESTAURANT!!! Barely outside tucked WAY IN THE BACK with limited view and Heavy Traffic. Just Awful!!! 2) The oysters were the SMALLEST I HAVE EVER been served. 3 of the five were smaller than a dime and the 2 others slightly larger than a dime. $ 31 and only one topping - a very oniony sauce. 3) Food was just ok - my filet and lobster ravioli were ice cold 🥶 4) Server was average - just kind of 'phoning it in' Overall, maybe the worst $ 400 dinner for 3 I've ever had. 5) I understand everyone has an off night but I stoped there before and showed them the sections where we would like to sit. They said NO PROBLEM as we would be in the First Seating. Instead, was given the WORST TABLE IN THE HOUSE. Very Poor Experience.

Husband had the surf and turf and I had the mahi mahi. Both were excellent! Our waiter Nick, was the bomb, so attentive, even though it was a very busy evening for him! We’ll definitely be back!
