   We went for the Sunday jazz brunch. My husband had the crispy fresh toast and I had the Koran chicken and waffle. The French toast was a visual feast. Covered withe edible flowers and fresh clementines, stuffed with an olive oil pudding sitting on a bed of creamy white caramel. Yet it wasn’t too sweet. The chicken and waffle was served with gochujang hot honey and Fresno butter. The mini waffles were soft and fluffy and the chicken crunchy and delicious. The hot honey was amazing over both the chicken and the waffles. The chicken sat in the Fresno butter. Just the right balance of sweet and heat. They also have hand crafted unique cocktails. I has the Union mimosa. It was perfect. I had seen executive chef Jacob Rios win chopped on the food network and really wanted to try this restaurant. We were NOT disappointed.

   As two individuals who have both previously eaten there we won’t be returning after this time. The milk bread was served cold and hard, the butter cake was extremely dry, the chicken was cold and dry, and the carrots were soggy. The snapper I ordered was good but the sweet potato hash that came with it was so bland I had to order a side of the Japanese sweet potato which was quite good and the only flavorful thing of the night. The recommended espresso martini by one of the servers was horrible and in addition to the food not being good the service was even worse. Our server felt it was more important to socialize with another table for over five minutes while we were waiting to order our drinks. As we kept looking around a gentleman came to ask if everything was okay but he seem to only notice one of us. My friend asked him a question in which he didn’t answer and also he only took my drink order and left; almost as if he completely did not see that there was another person at the table. The overall experience was horrible to the point where returning is not even an option.

   The cocktails and appetizers were all excellent. Bar and table service was superb. The bread was quite good. The main courses were good, very good, but not quite the same level as the other categories. Beautiful place and nice vibe.

   Delicious food and experience. Everything was very tasty, the hamachi maki sushi roll was not my favorite, however I think that may just be my preference. The Parker house rolls and mushroom papardelle well amazing. The Chilean sea bass was also very tasty and cooked perfectly.

   Great ambiance. The menu has a good variety between sushi, standard American food, etc. our food was very good. Service was perfect.

   Second time eating at Union. Food quality is above average, & and the menu is creative with small plates, burgers, and dinners. The restaurant is located in a business district; its atmosphere is suited to a bar crowd with both indoor & outdoor seating. Noise level is high!

   Usually we love Union! The service is always attentive, cocktails fantastic, and menu delicious. However, this time the food was far less than expected. The appetizer (short rib satay) was very overcooked and tough, and the NY strip wasn’t just rare, it was cold. Unfortunately the cut of meat wasn’t the usual quality either, and I had an upset stomach the whole next day. The salmon was outstanding, service was exemplary, and we will definitely be back to give them another shot. Everyone is entitled to a bad day once in a while.
