We are frequent patrons of Vic & Anthony's, so I knew to make my New Year's Eve reservations months in advance. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our reservation, but the hostess tried to seat us in the hallway overlooking a parking garage with harsh overhead lighting, calling it "the patio." Um, nope! I politely asked to be moved into the restaurant, but she refused and said it was "based on reservation system," to which I said, "that's why I booked months in advance." She still refused, so we went back to the hostess station and asked someone else to speak to a manager. He came and explained that it was their busiest night and he wasn't sure he could get us inside the restaurant. I told him that we are locals and eat there all the time, so we are not going to sit on the side of the restaurant in the hallway. We sat at the bar for a couple drinks--the bartenders are absolutely fantastic--and in about 10 minutes, they were able to give us a table inside the restaurant. The food, drinks, and service were all amazing, as usual! It was a minor inconvenience for a wonderful holiday meal with the hubby. Their steaks are always cooked to perfection, and don't skip the duck fat potatoes!! The drinks are just as good as the food, too!

When I order a Tomahawk Chop for $195 I’d like it to be served hot. If you can’t carve it tableside, or choose not to, figure out a way to serve it while it is still hot. You want the chef to carve it, you want it to rest… I don’t care, just serve it to us while it’s hot. And it would be nice if the wait staff didn’t look dumbfounded when I point out to them that our food is not hot. It would be even better if they offered a free drink while we waited for them them to try to fix the problem; which they did not accomplish. One of the most disappointing meals I’ve ever had. And perhaps the worst value for a meal that I’ve ever experienced.

We sat near the bar area during happy hour, and it was noisy. I will ask for different seating next time. Overall, everything was great. . .

The steak was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. The sides were mashed potatoes and asparagus were perfection. One of the best meals ever. Will definitely return!!

We were pleased to be seated in our favorite booth. We loved having the Fried Lobster & Mac and Cheese as an hors d'oeuvre split amongst the 4 of us. Our filets were cooked perfectly medium rare. The meat was tender. The creamed spinach is delightful. Our server Anna is professional and attentive. We love to be placed with her. It was a wonderful Christmas dinner among 4 friends!
