   The dining room is lovely and makes this choice an excellent one for the decor alone. My quiche was fair (a layer of bread above the crust??), the shakshouka had gamey tasting lamb sausage with one egg ($37???), and the steak and eggs were overdone. A breakfast for 3 was $225 with no liquor. . . And the server who took our order said she would be back to refill our coffee cups, but she never returned. Oddly, once we were seated with coffee, we were asked to move to a different table; a party of 5 needed the space more than we did. Props to the restaurant for sending us a pastry basket for the inconvenience.

   I should have read the recent reviews which are sadly on point. Understaffed, mediocre food, very expensive.

   Everything about the Villard was incredible. Food amazing, beautiful ambience. Took my daughter for her 21st. Service was outstanding!

   The location and setting is gorgeous, but the food is mediocre and extremely over priced for what you get. You could spend half as much and get a much better brunch somewhere else.

   The waiter was short tempered and rushed. Kept telling us to hurry that the kitchen was closing (never mentioned when we made a resi for 11). We ordered a kids meal, yogurt, cereal, a cinnamon bun and somehow spent $200. The hotel is beautiful but the restaurant is not as “christmasy “ as the rest and 100% not worth the money.

    Despite reservation, waited. Long wait for service. Pastry baskets we ordered dropped off, no plates. No one checked back after meals brought. Would choose coffee shop over this experience.
