One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had! Terrible service. Me and my boyfriend ordered dinner. When my meal finally came out it was cold and my boyfriend’s food didn’t come out with it. We waited another 30 mins and his food still didn’t come out. Other customers that came in after us were getting their food. We eventually decided to leave and they tried charging us for the meal my boyfriend never got. A horrible experience, we had to go across the street after to the grocery store to get a sandwich for him since the service was so bad and he was never even served. Never going back.

Excellent food, with unique offerings. Very helpful and knowledgeable waiter. Pleasent yet modest decorations. Very comfortable. Relaxing. One can see the influence of Japanese "Oishi" in all the dishes.. Kudos !!!

Ordered a prime rib, rare came out well done. Wife ordered filet medium rare, came out medium well. Kids ordered salmon, it was good. Beer was expensive for a12oz. at $8. Both steaks were over priced for what we got. $58 for the prime and $38 for the filet. Both meals had about 6 green beans and a few carrots for veggies. Mixed drink LIIT was very strong citrus flavor had to add a bunch of coke to get rid of the citrus. Meal portions were on the small size. One meal had mashed potatoes and it was only about 2TBSPs. Service was slow maybe coming each meal when ordered. Many people in the kitchen but not much in the restaraunt helping.

I’m Japanese, and this is the only restaurant can eat Youshoku( Japanese style western food) in Portland. We ate mix fries of seafood and Pork piccata. It was true Youshoku and we will go back soon to eat another things. Because it was so good!

Had a lovely lunch here with friends. The whole hotel property has a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. Our server Aden was attentive. friendly and thoughtful. We had the seafood pasta and pork cutlet. Both were tasty, but the seafood pasta was a standout. It was full of a variety of seafood including plump perfectly cooked scallops. My friends said the (house-made) pasta was excellent -- just the right balance between al dente and tender chewiness. The sauce is Japanese-style tomato sauce, slightly sweet. My Japanese native companions said it was a very nostalgic taste. The cutlet was delicious too, but simple. If you want something more substantial, I think I would opt for the Katsu Curry which pairs the cutlet with a savory curry sauce over rice. Desserts (molten chocolate cake and tiramisu) were excellent as well. It was the perfect place to take in the serene view of the Japanese garden while enjoying delicious food. I know the chef has an impressive French training background, but I would love to see some Japanese entrees added to the menu, including a Japanese style breakfast set to go with the setting. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

This was my first time eating at this restaurant. I read that the chef had a very good reputation at his previous positions in Japan and was looking forward to trying his dishes here. I ordered Spaghetti with Seafood in Tomato Sauce and my husband ordered Japanese Style Curry with Pork Katsu. We both thought the dishes were excellent in preparation and taste, equivalent to what we would get at a similar high class restaurant in Tokyo. It took longer than usual to be served which was expected because they just started the lunch service. We want to go back and try other dishes for lunch and also for dinner.
