   My husband and I wanted to get out of town for a weekend so we booked a couple nights at the Surf Hotel. We were so surprised and thrilled to find the lobby bar and restaurant, which was the highlight of our weekend! Amazing food/menu, drinks, service. Brunch was fantastic! I can't rate this high enough!

   We went there twice in one week. The food was fantastic both times. The dining room is beautifully decorated and clean. The service was fantastic on our first visit. On our second, our waiter was drinking wine with friends at the bar and was kind of rude.

   I really enjoyed the hotel and restaurants ambiance. The food was good, we all had meat dishes but the pork chop was overdone. However, I've eaten brunch there and the food was delicious so I recommend having that meal when you can eat out on the patio. The bar has a good vibe as well.

   Made a reservation using open table for this restaurant at 7:00 pm, hired a babysitter, and drove 35 minutes, only to have no hostess great us at the door. After 10+ minutes of waiting, we were told that we had no reservation, and that the system "never works." A table was found (with a flippant "you are lucky we have a table" rather then a "so sorry, how can we make this right). There was no waiter to take our order and no acknowledgement that by the time our drink order was taken, we had waited over 30-minutes from the start of our reservation. We were told the kitchen was backed up and the restaurant was understaffed and we would not be able to get food within the hour. While the restaurant was gorgeous and the few appetizers we ordered were delicious, we sadly could not have the dinner we intended for my husband's birthday. So we drove home at 8:30 without dinner (having had a reservation at 7:00) and ordered a pizza, which was waiting for us! Could not be more disappointed.

    The only complaint I had was the very limited menu. The food was great though. Cocktails were outstanding. Look forward to my next visit to BV and your restaurant!
