White Dog Cafe's newest location brings local, seasonal, and sustainable dining to Chester County. The original Vickers Tavern has been completely renovated, and the White Dog Cafe has preserved the building's history while adding chic farmhouse aesthetics and dog-themed decor. The restaurant features seven distinct dining rooms, each with its own unique personality and design. In addition, there is an expansive outdoor patio with a gas fireplace and retractable cover. The open Barn room includes a large oval bar, a sitting area by an open fireplace, and doors leading to the outdoor potting shed. The menu includes several White Dog staples, such as Kennett Square Mushroom Soup, Double Cheddar Burger, Lamb Bolognese, Truffle Fries, and house-made bread baskets from local farms, alongside new additions.

Started for a drink and appetizers at the bar! Then had dinner in the drawing room every thing was excellent! The service and the food! First time having the key lime pie it was the best I have ever eaten and it was presented with a birthday candle.

This was our first time at White Dog Chester Springs and the experience was wonderful. Tracey J. was our server and she was friendly, prompt and welcoming. My husband had the Double Cheddar Burger and I enjoyed the Avocado BLT. Both were served with Parmesan Truffle fries. A specialty dessert of coconut rice pudding woth chocolate budino had been added to the menu and it was very well balanced with a variety of textures. Hats off to Tracey, our bartender (excellent Espresso Martini) and the kitchen staff for a lovely meal.

Everything was just “ok”. The one highlight was the tuna tartar which was very good. Everything else was ok, but not enough to make us hurry back. Server could have been more attentive, food could have been warmer and menu doesn’t have enough items that make me feel the need to try them. Doesn’t seem quite up to par with the Wayne location. Finally, please caulk around the bottom of the window frames, you can feel a breeze when you sit right by them. Not great on a cold night.

It was our first time eating in this wonderful restaurant. It came highly recommended from family and friends. We loved the look of the venue… The multiple rooms to dine in, the bar, the awesome seating area around the fireplace and the outdoor area for the summertime. Our server James came over and gave us a very warm greeting which set the tone for the evening. The mushroom soup & French onion soup were so tasty and perfect for a very chilly evening. The barbecue pork spareribs, the crabcakes and the flounder were absolutely out of this world. They came highly recommended from James. He described these entrées in such detail and with such passion that one would've imagined that he had cooked them himself. The apple pie strudel for dessert was a perfect ending to an awesome meal. We were really blown away with the menu items and the quality of the food and the plating, kudos to the chef. What really made our evening fun and memorable was James's level of service and attention to detail. Thank you James !!!

I ordered mushroom soup and it was barely warm. There were very few people in the restaurant so it wasn’t because they were busy. It was good but not very appetizing….especially on a freezing day!

This was my third time dining at this White Dog location, and I brought along a friend and former colleague visiting from out of town. I ordered the French onion soup and prime rib. Unfortunately, the soup was lukewarm and not very tasty. The prime rib was just okay; it was served at room temperature alongside a stuffed baked potato that was nearly cold. Overall, I was disappointed with the food. While the atmosphere was nice, the waitress was very friendly but not attentive, particularly regarding timing when taking orders and serving drinks. The hostesses could also improve their customer service to accommodate guests better, especially since the restaurant was mostly empty on a Monday night. Overall, it was not a great experience, and there’s room for improvement, which I’m sure they’re working on since they haven’t been open very long. I do miss Vicker’s, which used to be at this location. Vickers had great food and service and a much more friendly atmosphere.
