   It was my moms birthday and we both had ordered a steak well done and we both had to return our streaks back at least 3 times before we got a somewhat well done steak.

   I have been encouraged by OpenTable to keep this review "short, simple, and specific," but I believe that detailed, honest experiences are sometimes best for meaningful feedback. Having lived in New York City for ten years, I developed a deep appreciation for truly great steak houses such as Peter Luger, Ben Benson, and Del Frisco's. These establishments set the standard with their high-quality, properly aged prime cuts and meticulous preparation. A hallmark of these restaurants is the attentive service—waitstaff remain tableside to ensure your steak is cooked exactly as ordered and offering fresh ground pepper immediately. I am addressing only the issue of steaks and, unfortunately, Willard Hicks is not even close to these standards. I ordered a bone-in ribeye priced around $62 specifically requesting it cooked medium-rare on the rare side, along with a baked potato with toppings. The steak delivered was disappointingly thin—approximately 1/4 inch—and significantly overcooked, nearly well-done. Additionally, the baked potato was undercooked and slightly hard. Further compounding the issue, our waiter did not wait to see if the steak was as ordered and was unavailable for about ten minutes, delaying the report of these problems. When he finally reappeared, he apologized and promised a suitable replacement. Fifteen minutes later, a different staff member brought the replacement steak, now a little better thickness at about 1/2 inch and correctly cooked medium-rare but, again, promptly left without waiting to verify and no one was available to provide pepper. After flagging someone down, I finally received pepper in a dish but not fresh grounded. Now, by this point, the baked potato had become cold but with the delays already experienced, I chose not to raise another complaint. For those familiar with authentic steak house standards, this experience clearly shows that Willard Hicks falls short in this category and needs to re-evaluate their service.

   The food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. Our server was great and stayed on top of our needs. We were very pleased with our dining experience.

   Food great and service very good until after we received food. Then attention seemed to lag. Thanks for birthday dessert. Nice touch.

   We had a great birthday dinner. The food was delicious and very large portions. The steaks were tender and juicy, the ribs were super tender, the hamburger was large and very good and the scallop risotto was delicious! We took lots home!

   The tempura on the chicken was soggy and mushy. The wedge salad was not well presented and the corn was not as described. The music was terribly loud. Ambience was not much. Restaurant was like a barn, very bright and very loud. Would not recommend or visit again.

   The food was excellent. Our waiter had bad handwriting so the cooks couldn't read the order, so most of us had already finished our meals before the birthday boy was served his meal. Once the waiter took our order he was missing in action. The support staff took good care of us and did their best to address our concerns. The waiter eventually owned up and took responsibility for the messed up order. The waiter and support staff were slow to clear finished plates from our table which drives me crazy in a fine dining setting. We had a lovely evening in spite of the issues we had with the timing of the food, etc.

    Service was above and beyond. Host (dang - want to say Damian -sorry) and Waiter (Ivan) were excellent and super accommodating. Let our 14lb mini poodle sit with is in the booth (in her tiny bed we brought). Music was at the right level and good! (rare these days). Okay the burger was enormous and I am 6'0 and 185lb athlete and could not eat half of it - just stop - or you all should seriously think about splitting it. It came as ordered -rare - cooked perfectly for my liking. Desert was amazing - lime cheesecake was really good. Beer menu was great and the drink menu looked amazing by the way - don't really day drink any more ,,, the Trumer Pils on draught was perfect. The wine list also looks great. I recommend this place! Side note -my wife is a professional chef (owns her own catering business... so I know food
