“This Must be the Place”

What's a Wolf Peach, you say? Well, it’s an interesting story.

What we know today as the tomato was first grown as a crop by the Aztec Indians. Spanish explorers brought the tomato back to Europe in the early 1500s.
In England and Germany, they were initially regarded as ornamental, but poisonous, a “wolf peach”. This is because aristocrats experimented with the tomato, but it ended badly—not due to the fruit, but because it was eaten on pewter dishes. Apparently, acids in the tomato leached the highly toxic lead in the pewter dishes, and caused illness and even death in many cases. The “common” folk, however, typically ate on wooden dishes, and had no problem!

Wolf Peach is a place for all of us regular folks. A little uncommon, a little unexpected, a little special. A place for everyone and anyone to enjoy a good hearty meal, scratch-made from Chef Jason Okurowski.

Firday and Saturday evenings will not accomodate parties of larger than 8.

We are happy to have a restaurant like Wolf Peach in Parker. We have had great service, drinks and food there in the past, and love the ambience, but this time we were disappointed. Our waitress was rushing us through the whole evening. She took our drink and appetizer order and before we got our appetizer she wanted to take our dinner order and said she would not bring them out until we were done with the appetizer. But, the dinners were delivered and we had to move our appetizer plates to make room. Scallops were salty, not as good as the last time I had them. We ordered dessert and a coffee. Bread pudding was dry so I would not recommend it, the bill came out after we had about two bites of the dessert, and the coffee (cappuccino) came out after the bill. WP - please slow down a little and let your guests enjoy your restaurant! We will try again, but not for a while.

Really great place! The food was so good and everything paired so well. You got to try the Carmel Old Fashioned! Not to sweet.

Went there a week ago and it was awesome so we decided to invite another couple last night. We ordered a fried chicken plate as an appetizer and it was served raw. After sending it back we were surprised that no manager came to speak with us about it. It got the meal off to a bad start and it never recovered.

I met a friend there for drinks and appetizers, as we had wanted to try this place for a while. We ordered a charcuterie board and drinks, which I felt were good but expensive for what we got. Our server was pushy throughout our time there (we also overheard the people at the table next to us say they felt like they were “in trouble” for not deciding on their order sooner), and she would stand over us until we made decisions about what to order, even after we said we needed a minute to decide. Then, after being there for about 2 hours, we were asked to leave because the server told us “we need the table,” even though the table seated next to us had been there as long as we had (they had even been seated a few minutes before we were) and had not been asked to leave. Thinking they had people waiting to be seated and that was the reason we were being asked to go (which would have been completely understandable), we paid our bill and got up to leave. As we walked through the restaurant, however, we realized there was no one waiting to be seated, and there were also two other open tables and several open seats at the bar. At that point, we felt that we had been asked to leave because we didn’t order as much food as the table seated next to us (who were also still sitting and talking, having finished their meal). I will not be returning to this restaurant, as they seem to only value you as a customer if you spend more money.

Ten of us celebrated a friend’s birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make the event extra special. Everyone loved their food, and the service was top notch. All around it was a perfect night. We all stated that we would all be back!

I absolutely love the lamb there. I don't look at the menu, I ask them "Do you have a lamb dish". That's what I'll have.
