Yana Coogee, situated a stone’s throw away from the beach on the main promenade of Coogee, is inspired by Chef Same Lane's passion for the simplicity of cooking with an open fire and the feeling of being surrounded by great food, drink and company.

The delicate smokey aromas from the kitchen greet guests as they arrive in our Australian inspired interior with exposed brick walls and leather seating booths - altogether, setting the scene for a delicious, fire-touched dining experience.

The menu will be agile to work closely with the dynamic nature of the availability of local produce. You can expect to enjoy a menu including Whole King Prawns with Nduja butter, 1.2kg black onyx Tomahawk with oregano Verde, and sides including Medley with Heirloom carrots, radish, zucchini, Sheep yoghurt, sumac, and honey. The bar serves up a beer and wine list that won’t disappoint, and cocktails that elevate the coastal vibes and set the tone for your Yana experience.

Yana presents our new $89 Bottomless Lunch! Celebrate the weekend with our bottomless lunch, starting at 12pm every Friday and Saturday. Gather your crew and enjoy Yana's signature dishes and new menu highlights for $89pp. Savor a 2-hour feast with free-flowing tap lager and select wines. Need more? Add-ons for food and drinks are available. A $10pp deposit is required at booking then deducted from the final bill on the day. The remainder of the $89pp price is due at the restaurant on the day and we do not split bills for this experience. *note that standard large group surcharges still apply and food is portioned for groups of 8+. If you are a group of 7 or less there will be less food that is sent to the table.

What a debacle. Had to wait 20 minutes for a beer, ask multiple times for water to be brought to the table, and when the water was bought the glasses were wet as if they just been rinsed out. I’m not sure they’d even been through a dishwasher, maybe just rinsed out because they were still wet. I can’t really judge the food, because we didn’t get any. An hour and a half into our booking, still no entree. We had a couple of cocktails, which were the lowest tide cocktails I’ve ever had, for $23 that’s a bit rude. There seemed to be a lot of people running around and doing not much of anything. I should’ve known by how many people were in the restaurant, not many, that it wasn’t going to be a good experience. Not a thing came out from the kitchen, what else is there to say. We walked out, after complaining. Hungry, we found somewhere else to eat. Unfortunately, we weren’t the only ones that complained or walked out. They seriously need to look at their operating model, from top to bottom, it wasn’t just one aspect of the restaurant, none of it worked.

Had a reservation for 9 people and when we arrived the restaurant was closed without any notification to us even after we had replied to a confirmation text direct from the restaurant. Very disappointing to turn up with 9 people and then having to find alternative restaurants of similar standard to accomodate last minute is almost impossible.

Guys working there were lovely but overall was terrible. The wine we wanted wasn’t available, steak wasn’t available, food overcooked, cocktail took 45 min and were disorganised. Not the staff fault but overall terrible

Nice decor with good atmosphere and nice food. Service was only okay with new untrained staff but that can be overcome.

Worst dining experience in a while! We booked a reservation to try the tomahawk as advertised by Yana as the main offering. When we arrived we were not told this was sold out until we went to order. From here it only got worse as we ordered our entree and main and were told 25 minutes later that they had no tuna for our entree. Instead we ordered the beef skewers which took another 15 minutes to arrive and then a further 45 minutes for our sirloin steaks! We were here a total 2.5 hours for our sitting just waiting for our food to arrive in which it was all delayed and arrived out of order, our potatoes arrived well before our mains, even the chef had to ask us what we ordered to double check. I would like to give credit to the wait staff who were amazing throughout our booking providing us with updates and their apologies, but we blame the management and systems for the poor experiences. The management offered a discount but not by much. To save yourself time and money, I don’t recommend this restaurant. If you are looking for good steak - go to La Spiaggia next door!

Took 30 mins from arrival for someone to give us menus and she end up giving us breakfast menus and not dinner so had to keep calling staff over to change menu then no one came to take the order for a long time. The staff were just all over the place. Potatoes came our hard / raw. The steak is not worth 60 dollars, came out small and slightly fatty. Portions were really small over all for the price. Over priced and over rated

Service was slow, we waited so long for the wait staff to bring our drinks. Bread came out really burnt, had to ask twice for the olives. We recieved our steaks but waited 10minutes for the rest of the sides to come out. Then had to ask about the scallops which was meant to be a starter. Overall food was average but wouldn't return due to poor service.

More items on menu needed Top area needs to be blocked off somehow hearing dj music and exceptional 70’s 50’s classics at the same time was putting me off
