Located at Yosemite Valley Lodge, the Mountain Room Restaurant boasts striking views of the 2,424 foot high Yosemite Falls. The menu is equally impressive, featuring sizzling steaks and fresh seafood. The chef’s specialties include local, organic & seasonal preparations including sustainable fish and seafood in accordance with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch List. The Mountain Room Restaurant is open year-round.

We’ve been coming here for over 10 years as we’re in Yosemite valley between Christmas and New Years. The menu has changed over the 5-6 years and our whole family agreed that the New Year’s Eve menu this year was fantastic! The appetizer station is a nice touch as you’re waiting for your entree . Options this year were truffled wild mushroom and lobster bisques, oysters in half shell, cocktail shrimp, cornbread panazella kale salad and a pomegranate kale salad- all were fabulous! The 10 year old and I got the filet mignon ( yes there was a child portion!) while hubby and 18 year old got the corvina fish option- yummy! Hates off to the chef who planned the menu this year- we’re looking forward to NYE 2025!

We spent much of the day at Yosemite, and ended in the Mountain Room. FABULOUS view, fun cocktails, and delightful food to go along with it!

We often seek out restaurants owned by Top Chef contestants and winners during our travels, so we’ve had the privilege of enjoying some incredible meals. It’s no exaggeration to say that the food at the Mountain Room is on par with those high-caliber establishments. The trout, in particular, was outstanding—beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. If you’re visiting, don’t miss it!

We VERY MUCH enjoyed our experience at the Mountain Room!!! Our server, John, was awesome and the food was amazing. It was also served piping hot, which makes a meal fantastic in my opinion. The ambience of the restaurant was also quite wonderful. We will definitely return and will highly recommend to others.
