For 20years, Chef Victor Wang and Owner Chiara Covelli have reigned over their highly acclaimed restaurant… Zen Forrest… known for its Chinese, Korean, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, and Singapore. Award winning lunches and Dinner. Private events, cooking classes. Zen Forrest was known for amazing food, sake, wine and imported and local beers.
When the lease came up at Zen Forrest and they couldn't stay Chiara thought it might be the end of Zen Forrest in New Port Richey. As good things do happen, with the assistance of the new partner, Jay Patel, he found the perfect location on Grand Boulevard in downtown New Port Richey. It is a larger restaurant accommodating over 150 guests, with a Sushi Bar and a sociable, full liquor cocktail bar.

We were a little disappointed. Went for New Year's Eve dinner, which could possibly be the reason for the noise level. When dining at an Asian restaurant, I always start with a Mai Tai. This was the worse Mai Tai I ever had, it was too sweet and tasted like fruit punch. I was hoping that wouldn't be a sign of things to come. For staters my wife ordered the Grandpa's Potstickers and requested a different dipping sauce as she preferred not to have the garlic sauce. Our server gave other options and my wife decided on a mango sauce, which she then found that it also had garlic. There were no other options, however, the dumplings were good. I started with the Tuna Carpaccio which was very good, although lemon, olive oil was abundant and overwhelmed the flavor of the tuna. I then had the Kim Chi Mandu dumplings which came out the same time as my Tuna. They had good flavor but lacked in Kim Chi flavor which they were named for. As entrees my wife had the Sesame Chicken which was not prepared in the traditional Chinese style, however the presentation was good but my wife couldn't eat it as the Sesame Sauce was too salty. My entree was the Szechuan Filet Stir Fry. I felt the seasoning was a little to salty but tolerable for myself. Our server had asked if I'd like it prepared mild, medium or hot. I chose hot, but should have requested it to be extra spicy as the "hot" level was more mild. The flavor was good. Service was good. All in, it was an average experience and we're doubtful to return.

We really like going to Zen. Food is better than most Asian restaurants anywhere nearby, and the fusion aspect of it means everyone in the group can find something they like. We keep coming back for the butter chicken with the bread basket - so good. Dora is a wonderful server, always so bubbly.

Menus had 2 different times where sushi was available. However, they were done making it for the day even though it was before the time. Asked for spicy, and it was medium at best

It was excellent, everyone got different food and I tried all. I got the curry lamb; it is not on the menu I think you have to ask for it.

every time at Zen - is delicious ! The food the drinks - and of course Ladies night. We had Dora - not the first time- and she was great!!!

While the music (female artist) was enjoyable the noise was too high for conversation. It encouraged rowdy behavior from the bar which filtered loudly into the dining area.

The service was top shelf, the food was great and the ambience was very cool! Truly the gem of downtown New Port Richey. I had the lamb shank and it was incredible.

Our group consisted of returning and first time customers. We all loved the food, the ambience of the restaurant and cocktails. Our server, Michelle was awesome and would ask for her again upon our return. She was friendly, gave great recommendations and always checking in with us.
