Zitz Sum is a 30 seat seasonal restaurant located inside of an historic building in Coral Gables, Florida. Our story, is a story of resilience, passion & commitment, that is translated in a plate of food, excellent service and unapologetic gracious hospitality. Our current menu is an autobiographical journey reflecting Chef’s experiences and our affinity for Japanese ingredients and technique.

We currently offer A la carte menu that changes with the seasons, and a Seven Course Tasting Menu that changes weekly. Our tasting menu consists of playful snacks and bites to get the night going, and an array of our signature and favorite current dishes. Part of the tasting menu is presented in a family style format conducive for sharing and celebrating.

Zitz Sum is recipient of a 2022, 2023 & 2024 Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand Award, a 2022 James Beard Foundation Semifinalist for Best New Restaurant and a New York Times 2022 Best 50 Restaurants in America.

I wonder if this was a New Years rip off. I booked and confirmed my reservation through open table for a regular 4 cover. The restaurant cancelled my confirmed booking days later, saying they only had space for tasting menu, and oh, that reservation needs to be prepaid no less. Full fees paid upfront. We did the wine pairing with a tasting menu. We are foodies and had eaten at many top restaurants throughout the world. Have to say this was not great food. Service was rushed and dishes poorly explained. The wine pairing was subpar on choice and we were not served a pairing with dessert. We had to call waiter and asked if it was paired. There was a Complete lack of attention to detail that is required to make a dining experience great. From reception, to food, to wine pairing to being tended to with our food. This was not worth the money spent. In fact, it was a poor experience all around. This was a very poor experience

Extraordinary things happen when actions and values align. This small, vibrant space served up subtle, sophisticated, mysteriously aromatic food, simply presented but described in detail by every person who came to our table. Crazy good food, pricey but reflective of its value-driven founders.

Such a great night! We went for the Dim Sum Experience and it was top notch. Great to taste new things at Zitz Sum. Quite a filling four course dumpling menu.

Overcooked ribeye. Ordered medium rare, came out medium-well. They did not make a new one. Only comped our $20 worth of beer and cocktail for a $65 ribeye.

Great experience with excellent food and thoughtful service. Didn’t opt for the tasting menu. The two of us ended up stuffed after the bread and dumplings, all amazing and will have again, but other stuff was tasty also. My wife is still talking about the bread.

We went for the special dim sum menu and it was wonderful. We added the cucumber salad and steak tartar as well. It was a bit too much for just the two of us but we have zero regrets. Our server was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. My wife and I always enjoy our visits but this was overall exceptional. Thank you.

Phenomenal experience, top to bottom. Service was impeccable and the food was next level. We did the tasting menu which was a journey through the selection from each category of the menu. It was spectacular and highly recommend. Each dish more delicious than the last! If you are going to do the tasting menu, come hungry. Great experience, will definitely be back.
