                                                                                        Upscale Tex Mex. The food is good when I just want basic American Tex-Mex. My favorite is the Cochinita Pibil tacos. The staff is always friendly. My only issue is that food comes out really fast. There's no spending time with family or friends visiting over a nice meal. It is "turn those tables as quickly as possible". "Gobble your dinner and go so we can turn the table". If I want a leisurely meal, I'll get takeout and go home.

                                                                                        This was my first visit to the restaurant. I had often dined in the midtown location. I was not disappointed. The service was excellent, the food was excellent. All and all, an excellent experience. I highly recommend.

                                                                                        Had post thanksgiving dinner with a party of 11. They were very accommodating (even was able to move us inside since it was cold). Food was great and so was the hospitality.

                                                                                        Dinner with the family was excellent again tonight. Tacos de Cansuela was delicious as was the grilled chicken burrito bowl. Service was very good and, of course, it was fun to catch up with Josh and Kelly! They are the reason we keep coming back almost every week. 😊

                                                                                        We have enjoyed many of our visits to Zocalo, but this was not a good experience. We were seated at a table in a sparsely populated restaurant. I asked for a booth to protect my leg (post-op) while limping and using a cane. We were told we had limited time at that booth because of other reservations. We did not feel welcome. The meal started well with complimentary appetizers, chicken tostadas, which were tasty. Our guacamole appetizer was good, also. I did order a nice Mezcal neat. It came garnished with an orange that had been rubbed all over the rim. I could find no way to not have the orange change the taste of the drink. Unfortunately, the mezcal was much less enjoyable this way. Of our three entrees, all were not served as we requested. Two of the entrees were still pretty good. The third entree was quite poorly prepared. The edges of the enchiladas were cool, but the filling was quite hot and very over-cooked. The meat was stringy and hot to the tongue. We did send it back. No one came back to offer a menu so we could get something different. Our churro was pretty good, but almost no chocolate sauce was on it. Hopefully our next experience is different from this one.

                                                                                        Honestly it was fantastic. The problem was they were short staffed. Our waiter did his best but was spread to thin. The manager was also helpful. Food was supposed to be split but they didn’t but they made the modifications for our requests. All in all very solid and enjoyable. The manager explaining the tequila was the highlight!
